OMG. I finally made it x.x After burning disk space to almost 150 MB... I MADE IT. The CG tutorial I promised to do since 3 months ago x___X No crits, rude comments, or flames. I tried my best to explain things and I really don't want people to tell me that I suck at that. I also don't want anyone to critique my shading/picture. If you have any questions about it though, you're more than welcome to ask
I was going to include an EYE section, but I was seriously running low on disk space to do so.... SORRY!! ;___; I promise I'll try to do a tutorial just for that next time!I'm reusing the elf picture that I drew for Askyren's X-mas prezzie x3

I use the pen tool to choose where the shadow, highlight, colors, etc. go...so says a couple of other tutorials...even so I tend to fall asleep while CG'ing...

Yea, you'll need a lot of patience to shade with the lasso tool

I dunno I'd have the PATIENCE to try that...especially since I don't have photoshop >.< How do you get the
1) colours just right?
2) right shape for the shadows and highlights?

Well,
1) I use the color scale to find the darker tones and lighter tones of my picture :3
2) The lasso tool is like a little pencil but you have to enclose the selection and all. x-x I just draw in the shadow and highlites and fill 'em up with the fill tool. You actually might need a really steady hand to do this step, but if not, you can always stick to regular shading with the brush tool

what version of photoshop do you use?.... I have Adope photoshop CS and I don't even know how to make a basic line art... >_< (frustrated/embarassed)

Well, I'd suggest that you should download the free trial of Photoshop 7 and work with that
