Description The ferocity and brute force of the northern dragons must be seen to be believed, but it is a dangerous prospect and one case were blind faith is safer. The fafnirae are powerful armored drakes that lair in caves and abandoned castles. They hunt along game trails or roads, springing forward to attack anything that crosses their path. The abundent spikes and scutes protect them from any attack, though their bellies are unarmored. The prudent dragon hunter will find a way to attack from below.

About thirty feet or so, maximum? Probably about five feet high at the shoulder.

Yikes, that's a big drake. I'd hate to run into one in the wild!

In mythology, Fafnir was originally a Dwarf-Prince who was warped by greed when he murdered his father, Dwarf-King Hreidmar. Seigfried, aided by Fafnir's brother Regin, decides to slay Fafnir and claim his treasure. Using his heirloom sword, Seigfried kills Fafnir by stabbing his heart. Drenched in his blood, Seigfried gains invulnerability as well as the ability to communicate with birds. Before dying, Fafnir informs Seigfried that his treasure is cursed. Seigfried learns of Regin's potential betrayal and slays him as well.

Did I say that right?

Even though it doesn't resemble the dragon from Norse mythology of the same name, it's an excellently made monster!!
