Description
Hey everyone! Have a tutorial! Enjoy! It's pretty big...so it may take a while to load^^ I cover everything...I think. Yes.
It takes me, on average, 6-8 hours to make a strip. Sometimes longer because I can be REALLY picky with certain things, especially with the line-art. So it varies-- also this had a far less complicated background, so that cuts down time considerably!

wow cool!
btw, how hard is it to create figures with that "poser 7"... like, do i need to know anything like "blender3d" or something like that?

Ashwings In reply to itsNateKelly [2009-02-13 17:50:41 +0000 UTC]
Nope! I don't use that. Hahah I just kinda make the manikins look like the characters and then I pose em

Do you use just one single layer for the persons' colours? I mean, skin, hair, clothes, shadows - all in one?
Isn't this tricky?
Oh, and BTW what do you need your wacom tablet for? Just filling in colours?
I draw and scan just like you, this works the best - although i think i could use a cintiq if it weren't that expensive
oh and I couldn't do what you do because of a horrible lack of patience. Analogue colouring is much quicker as far as I am concerned; but I prefer plain pencil.
great work!

Hahah yeah I do it all on one layer haha, I just color everything in by hand I guess that makes me terribly old fashioned or something!
π: 0 β©: 1
somelatevisitor In reply to Ashwings [2009-02-14 22:18:55 +0000 UTC]
that's simply cool not old-fashioned at all; when you use too many layers, everything slows down terribly (although I suppose you have tuned your imacs RAM to what's-the-maximum 4 gb?)

Your Mac... It's my dream computer! @_@
This is an excellent tutorial. I've been looking for a good one like this for a while. That's good that you've shown us to make a rough draft paper before making the page. I've noticed a lot of people doing that recently with their new comics, and it makes for comics with poorly developed stories.
Thank you so much for sharing your techniques with us!

Thanks for sharing. :3

I've found I can't stick to deadlines like that...I have to draw a tonne of pages, and then start posting them by a deadline, so I have lots backed up.
I really like how the start of your comic is like a movie. Where'd you get that idea? Would you mind if I implemented it?
