Description Since there has been some interest expressed in the techniques I use when I draw, I thought it a good opportunity to try my hand at creating a tutorial. So, I give to you the Character Drawing Tutorial, from yours truly.

In it I cover visualization, thumb-nailing, proportions, the anatomy of the human form, and general character drawing techniques.

I hope you all find this to be informative, or at the very least interesting. Enjoy!

And hey, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Great tutorial, Usually just struggled trying to tackle full sized pics so doing the thumbnail drawings first work wonders on my proportions

This is great! Just what I needed. I'm trying to learn all I can before I get into going back to trying to draw people.
Say that ten times fast.

You'll be happy to know that this tutorial has proved to be immensely helpful in constructing shapes and drawing foreshortening on bodies. It's amazing what seeing someone else's method can do for improving one's own.

Hey, I'm glad I could help.

And it is amazing what you can learn about yourself by seeing how others draw, isn't it? That's why I love sketch submissions by other artists. You can look at the sketches and actually see their techniques at work. It's awesome.

You're very welcome!

I did my best to include as many helpful tips on anatomy and proportions as I could. I tell you though, it's hard deciding how detailed to go with these tutorials. I was worried that I hadn't added enough.
