Description The Elder Scrolls - Skyrim. It's one of the more enjoyable titles I've played in recent memory, and every bit as addictive as crack. (Or so I've been told.)

The attention to detail in Skyrim is simply staggering. From the majestic misty mounts which dot the landscape, to the tranquil forests brimming with lush plants and woodland critters (all of which make for excellent target practice, speaking as a master mage.) But I've found that the town guards really take the cake. The thought provoking observations they all to freely give as you encounter them during your adventures will bring you hours and hours of entertainment...

In all seriousness though, some of the stuff that comes out of their mouths is absolutely hilarious, like the little gem pictured above.

looks like adventures should invest in armored knee pads or they end up as guards.

I used to wear a Dwarven armor like you. Then i took a Dwarven Ballista shot to the knee. And those things have armor pierce capability

Nice work

Yup, no denying that in real life an arrow to the knee would suck.

But, the joke here is that in Skyrim you can literally become a human pincushion and just walk it off. (While the guards make snide remakes about their knees... those jerks!)

I heard "Took an arrow to the knee" was a methaphorical phrase to explain that the dude got married. Before marriage he got down on one knee to propose - thus, took an arrow to the knee.

Antaria-Nova [2013-07-13 01:25:57 +0000 UTC]

Well, apart from having ice spikes and arrows in unfortunate places, at least some time I shot an arrow so it went in trough one ear of a vampire and the tip came out the other.
And also I've shot a deer right in the spot where the sun doesn't shine.

I think the funniest moments in Skyrim are when an archer turns your head into a pincushion, but somehow you survive.

"Arrow to the knee" is Nordic slang for getting married. I thought that every old man and gaurd in Skyrim took an arrow to the knee.

brandonmp98 In reply to Dadrick [2014-05-16 01:21:33 +0000 UTC]

wasnt the first i visited , i always visit Riften first just so i can join up with the thieves guild first thing and i also usually kill grelod too and then travel to windhelm to start the quest "innocence lost". so, in conclusion whiterun is not always the first major city to be visited
