“Hey, Mur! Guess what!?” Speks called, sprinting over with his feet barely touching the ground.
“Uh... did you tell that lady to sod off?” Mur didn’t even look up, still with their paws deep into a berry bush as they tried to find more than the pitiful pile they’d managed to come up with so far... if you could even call three a pile.
“I signed us up for the guild!” He sang gleefully, giving a little spin. It was almost as if he hadn’t heard the zorua at all.
“You did WHAT?!” Mur stiffened completely, they were almost about to whip around and fully snap at their companion when they managed to just barely stop themself. As much as this situation was unexpected and scary and he was an idiot for not talking to them and... ugh. They just didn’t want to see him cry again. At least not before they found some stream to drink out of or something... Dumb boy would shrivel up and die of dehydration or something stupid like that... Though given the current change of situation, they might not have to find their food and drink in the wild after all.
Mur looked up to simply stare at the smeargle, mouth partially agape in disbelief. While the first thing they noticed was how his paws were clasped against his cheeks, Mur was barely able to even keep their eyes on him from how much he was bouncing in place.

“Madeline was so nice and she talked me through it all and I even got to come up with a cool name for us, isn’t that fun?”
“O-ohhh... that... that’s niiice, Speks.” Mur said, flashing an extremely forced very toothy smile that was a little too large for their face. It wasn’t nice. It wasn’t nice at all. Mur was a liar and they knew it. They could have survived in that cave and ate berries just fine. They didn’t need a new boss to work for... no, no, no. They were an independent murk- uh... zorua now... No flock attached. Very, very independent. Yes.
“Yeah! I wanted to emphasise our amazing friendliness so I named the team the friendliest thing I know...” he paused for dramatic effect, his excited and genuine grin growing tenfold, “Rainbow sprinkle cupcake icing! Because of... of...” he trailed off for a moment, clear conflict behind his eyes. Though it lasted only a second before he bounced right back to bursting full of excitement. “But uh... that was too long for the box so I just wrote rainbow sprinkle... I did put an exclamation mark after it though! Extra, extra added friendliness!”
“Rainbow... sprinkle...” Mur repeated, a wild swath of emotions crossing their face, not one of them positive. Mur, expert thief and fearsome force to be reckoned with... on ‘Team Rainbow Sprinkle!’... Ugh. So much for upholding what little scraps of a reputation they had to their name.
