A few weeks later, Lady and Bubble continued to hang out a little in between studies and have grown closer as friends. Mako had yet to return and there had not been news from the Reef that he had come home yet. But it wasn’t so bad, even with his absence it was nice spending time with his sister.

After one of Bubble's classes, a classmate came up to her and started talking about the last lecture, and how he'd love to spend some one on one time with her... studying of course. Bubble could feel the lust just waving off of him, telling him that probably isn't a good idea, she has a coltfriend after all. The guy gets pretty close, and puts a hand on the wall in front of Bubble, stopping her from leaving as he says, "What he doesn't know won't hurt him~"

Before Bubble could respond, she heard Lady’s voice from behind the stallion.

Lady: On the contrary, I think it'll hurt VERY much.. but not as much as it'll hurt you, mister, if you don't back up.

Bubble: *peeks around from behind the guy, smiling* Lady!

Student: *turns and looks down at Lady, giving a smirk* Who are you? Her grandmother? No need to be making threats, lady… I was just looking to have a little fun is all.~

Bubble: *groans and rolls her eyes*

Lady: *raises an eyebrow* Oh I’m just full of jokes is all. And her coltfriend’s sister. I just came to bring by some cookies for her and her roommates.~ *holds up a container full of cookies* And they look more appetizing than you.

Bubble: *ears perked as she sees the cookies* Ooh!

Lady: Case and point.

Student: *ear twitches and scoffs* Yeah, whatever. I didn’t want to spend the night with a couple of fatties anyways… even if you got all yours in all the right places. *Gives Bubble’s rump a playful pat, causing her to squeak and jump* See you next week in class.~

Lady: *eye twitches when he touches Bubble* I’d offer you a cookie before you go, but they seem too… hot for your tastes… *lightly touches his tail as he passes her to leave. A blue flame catches on him from her finger tips* And for your information… I’m pregnant. Not fat. *growling the last two words as the flame traveled up the stallion's tail, making contact with his flank.*

Giving a sniff at the smell of burning hair, the stallion turned to see his flank had caught fire, letting out a rather effeminate scream before running . Lady chuckled and grinned widely, greatly amused. As much as she promised her fiancé not to be so rash with ponies, she was not very happy with the young stallion making a move. Glancing to the side, she saw a few other stallions staring at her after seeing what she did.

Lady: *glares* What? You want a hot tail too..?!

Bubble: *snickering* Heheh, some guys just can’t take a hint, can they? *Rests a hand on Lady’s shoulder* Want to head up to my apartment? I can make you some tea.~

Lady: Oh that sounds lovely, lead the way.~

Bubble lead Lady into the apartment building up to the door to her dorm, seeing it was still locked, she pulled a key out of her purse and unlocked it to let Lady inside.

Bubble: My roommates must not be home yet. Please, make yourself comfortable. It's not much, but it's out little home away from home.

It was a small cozy living room and kitchenette, books and art supplies stacked messily in a corner, a couple textbooks stacked on the kitchen table.

Lady: *looks around and smiles as she went to set the cookies on the coffee table, then sits on the couch.* It's really nice here. Sometimes the smallest places are the most comfortable.

Bubble: *goes into the kitchen and prepares some tea for the both of them.* I enjoy it and it works, at least until I graduate. After then... I guess I'll have find a place of my own, somewhere.

Lady: *thinks for a moment as she opened the cookies* I'm there's a certain someone who would like to help with that.

Bubble: *There would be a light tinkering noise of cups hitting together. Bubble chuckles from the kitchen while cleaning up the water she spilled* Heheh, who Mako? I somehow doubt he'd appreciate me squatting at his house while he's gone.

Lady: *Snickers* Oh I wasn't talking about him. I meant me.

Bubble: *ears would perk before peering over counter at Lady* huh?? You.. wait.. *as she brought the two cups of brewing tea over to the couch* I'm confused..

Lady: Well.. there's no telling when Mako would get back.. And I'm sure your roommates will be having a bit of a hard time looking for places to live as well.. and I'm guessing you don't want to go back to your parents, correct? So... Why not stay with me.?

Bubble: *slowly sits down on the couch and stares at Lady* Wait really? You are offering me to live with you?! That.. would be amazing! But I would hate to be a burden, there is no way of knowing when I'll be able to get a job and I... *pauses before laughing a little* Hahaha, I haven't even met your kids or fiancé yet!

Lady: *giggles at that* Oh dear, there's still plenty of time before you graduate for you to meet them. In fact, I can guarantee even they would agree with me and encourage the idea.

Bubble: *blushes a little, and scratches her cheek, thinking about her original plan* ... I suppose it won't hurt, at least until I find a job... Oh. obviously, I'd still be working part time at the cafe to help pay for rent.

Lady: *waves her hand* You don't need to worry about rent if you accept.

Bubble: *laughs* Now you are just being cruel! At least let me pay for rent, or I'll never be able to sleep at night due to guilt!

Lady: *snickers* How am I being cruel?! Heheheh! Okay, okay, rent at the least, but don't worry about anything else. It's really no trouble.

Bubble: *sips her tea and then her ears perked* Wait a minute... is this you trying to get a live-in babysitter? *Raises an eyebrow at Lady*

Lady: *snorts* Oh no no no. For one, I'm sure my fiancé would be too nervous to let the baby out of his sight. And two, the only one of the twins that needs watching is my daughter, and her brother takes care of that.

Bubble: *chuckles* I see. If you ever do need someone to watch the kids sometime, maybe when the baby is older, I'd be more than willing to for an evening. I'm sure you and your fiancé could use one every now and again~

Lady: I'll keep that in mind, Heheheh. *Sips her tea* ... Hey, why don't you come over for dinner tonight?

Bubble: That sounds lovely!

Lady: Excellent! I'll just tell Xhisrc so he and the kids know. *Pulls out her phone and sends a text* They'll be so excited, the kids love meeting new ponies.

Bubble: I'm looking forward to seeing them. From what you've told me about them, they seem lovely.

Lady: Oh they're the sweetest. Xhisrc is just a kind stallion to the core, my daughter Annie is such a social butterfly, and my son Daniel is so sweet and a little bookworm.~

Bubble: *chuckles* I like them already~

As the two sipped their tea and munched on a few cookies, the door handle to the dorm room started to jiggle.

???: Oh, Bubble must be home. *Door opens at a crack* Heeeey~ Knock knock, hope we aren’t intruding on you and your mystery coltfriend!

???: Crayola, open the door... you are being ridiculous..

Lady: *hears the ponies outside the door and grins* Nooooo, she's with the coltfriend's sister today. But you can join too~ *looking at Bubble and wiggling her eyebrows*

There is a pause.

Crayola: *opens the door and peaks inside* Well, I mean if you insis--... oh... you mean for tea and cookies.... Riiiiiight.

Bubble snorts as Crayola is followed by Spellbind and Night Owl. Night's ear perk up when she sees Lady and gives her a bit of a look down.

Bubble: *stands to do introductions* Lady, these are my roommates, Crayola, Spellbind, and Night Owl. This is Lady.

Spellbind: Well of course she's a lady, but what's her name, dear?

Bubble:..... Lady.

Lady: ….. Pleasure to meet you all. My name really is, Lady.

Spellbind: *stares* Oh! I'm terribly sorry, it's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Lady! *as she goes to her and extends her hand to shake*

Night Owl leans a little to the side and looks at Lady's wings, and then her tail before tilting her head slightly.

Crayola: *bounds up to Lady and has a big smile on her face* Well howdy doody to you! What brings you these parts? Do you live on the island with Marko?

Bubble: ...Mako

Crayola: Right right, Mako.

Lady: *smiles and giggles at Crayola* Oh no, I live here in Ponyville. I just thought I'd come by to visit Bubble and bring over some cookies for you all.*Her tail wags a bit, gesturing to the cookies on the table*

Crayola: *eyes would get shiny* Ooh! Thank Miss Lady! You're the best! *before snatching a cookie.*

Spellbind: Crayola, wash your hands first... oh nevermind... Thank you very much, Miss Lady. Is there anything I can get for you? Perhaps some more tea?

Lady: *smiles at Spellbind* Thank you, that would be very nice, yes. *looks at Night Owl* .... Hello dear.

Night: *keeps her wings tucked behind her back some, keeping a stoic look* Good evening. It's a pleasure to meet you.

Lady: *blinks once before smiling at her and reaching out a hand to shake* Pleasure is all mine. Hmm... Seeing how many of you there are here I might just have to double the batches of cookies I make, heheh!

Night: *takes Lady's hand and shake it, but before letting go, she'd turn Lady's hand and see her claws* ... Pardon me for staring.. I've just never met a hippodrake before, mam. *before giving her head a little bow for respect before releasing Lady's hand*

Lady: *perks her ears* Oh..! Thank you for noticing, heheh. Most ponies just think I'm a new breed of batpony, heheh..

Night: *shows a small smile and extend her wing, showing the feathers and webbing* I too almost thought the same, being half batpony myself.

Crayola: *looks up with her cheeks stuffed in cookies, spitting crumbs out as she asked* Hippo-whatta? What's that?

Lady: * turns to look at Crayola, using magic to pick up a napkin from the table and gently clean up her face*

Bubble: *smiles and sips her tea* Hippodrake.. or dracony. Lady here is half-dragon.

Crayola: *chirps a little and smiles wide* Wait, really? That's pretty wicked! *her tail starting to wag*

Spellbind: *comes back with another cup of tea for Lady* Here you go, Miss Lady. Careful, it's a bit hot!

Lady: * takes the tea smiles* Thank you dear. *Sips* And yes, I am. *Looks to Crayola* But I'm a different kind of Hippodrake, heheh. *Closes her eyes and opens them, they're black. Everyone but Bubble flinched a tiny bit and took a step back from Lady* Never gets old.~

For a little bit, the roommates didn't say anything. Lady's eyes glimmered as she looked down at their chests.

Lady: My my, your hearts are just pounding right now.

Night: *ears perk up* Heat vision? or...

Bubble: *sips her tea, amused by everyone's reactions now that she's on the other side of it*

Lady: *nods her head* That, and I can see your heartbeats and skeletal systems. These are my forms of night vision. I'm a Nocturnal Hippodrake.

Spellbind: *looks a bit surprised* I read about Nocturnal Dragons once.. I thought that they were... * stops herself*

Night: *finished her sentence* Extinct... or at least gone for the most part, possibly migrated to another land..

Lady: *ears would swivel back for a bit* Hiding, is more close to the truth.. I'm surprised there's mention of us at all in any Equestrian books..

Night: *simply shakes her head* They weren't. I read it in a documentary written by a nature conservationists who had the pleasure to work with a nocturnal.

Lady: *ears would perk up and she'd have a smile on her face, emitting a slight purring noise* I see. Heheh, good to know. Mako will be very glad to hear this when he returns.

Spellbind: *taps her hooves on the ground anxiously as she looked at Lady* That.. being said, I was very interested in a few things I read about Nocturnals.. Could I bother you with a few... tiny little questions? *as she sits down on the couch next to Lady*

Lady: *blinks at her a few times, slightly surprised* Oh, of course! I don't mind one bit.

Spellbind: *bubbling over herself a little, as she pulled a parchment and quill from her bag and started writing down notes* Splendid! Oh goodness, where to begin--

Crayola: Can you breath fire?!!

Spellbind: Crayola!

Lady: *unable to help but laugh at that, looking at Crayola* Yes, I can. Sometimes I don't need to breathe it though. *Lifts up her hand and a small spark appears before her hand is engulfed in blue fire*

Crayola: *pupils become round and she's starts breathing heavy* Sooo... cooooooool~

Spellbind: *ears perk* Oh, is that because you were born with a Unicorn's horn or is that related to the "Nocturnal Magic" I read about?

Lady: It's the Nocturnal magic. *The fire dies down* I may be able to use magic with my horn, but it is very limited.. For obvious reasons. *Pokes the broken tip* But, my Nocturnal magic helps balance it out, even if I don't use it very often.

Spellbind: *tail would start to wag a little* Thats.. uh.. actually what I wanted to ask you about... How are Nocturnals able to use magic? And.... can it be learned?

Lady: *chuckles* The vast majority of every dragon species can use magic. The ones ponies know most about, the magic they possess is tied to a single leader. Nocturnals don't have a "Dragon Lord" or anything like that. Our magic is something we're born with. But some are stronger with it than others. It's not something that can be taught.

Spellbind: *silently scribble down her notes, but her ear would give a bit of a twitch* That is pretty fascinating, hehe. What kind of magic do you know personally? The average unicorn only knows a hand full of spells, mainly levitation, hehehe.

Lady: I know only a handful as well. I'm not really a spell caster like my father, heheh. But I was able to cast a temporary transformation spell. Unfortunately, it only lasted about ten hours. I'm still trying to relearn magic.

Bubble: *ears would perk at that* Transformation spell?

Lady: Well, I suppose it's more of an illusion spell? I tried to hide my dragon features for a while, but the spell is faulty because I might've looked like a normal pony, but my wings- *stretches them* were still able to be touched even though they weren't visible.

Night: *tilts her head* Why would you want to hide your wings? I think they are unique to who you are and... if I'd be so bold... beautiful and one of a kind..

Crayola: *sprawls out on the carpet, belly full of cookies* Right? I wish I was part dragon! That sounds like it would be awesome~

Lady: *blushes at their comments and her tail would wag* It was just a Uhm... Difficult time for me is all. I did that when I was a teenager, heheh. Pressure to fit in, one of those phases..

Spellbind: *chuckles as she adjusts her glasses* hehe, I think we all know how that is. None of us here judges you, we all try to hide who we really are at one point or another..

Bubble: *has such a good poker face right now, just silently sipping the last of her cold tea*

Lady: *smiles* It's a phase that just takes time to get through. Long as you have someone there to help.

Crayola and Spellbind would look at each other and smile at each other. Night would think back at her family... and Bubble just remains silent, before standing to put her mug in the sink.

Bubble: *glances at the clock*.. oh.. It's starting to get late. I'm surprised you haven't gotten any frantic calls from your fiancé yet, thinking you got foalnapped or something, hehehe.

Lady: *perks up her ears* OH! Oh no! *Checks her phone.... 5 missed calls* oh dear.. I'm not going to hear the end of this, Heheheh. *Gets up, rubbing her belly* This has been fun girls, but I'm afraid I must go home. Oh! And I'll be foalnapping Bubble for the night as well, Heheheh~

Crayola would whine, and Spell would pout a little, and Night would stand as well.

Night: Thank you for coming over, It was pleasure meeting you, Miss Lady.

Spellbind: Please, feel free to come back whenever you like. I have plenty of more questions~

Crayola: And thanks for the cookies, they were delicious! *wags her tail happily*

Lady: It was wonderful meeting you all. And I'll be sure to bring by more sweets when I do visit~ Any requests, Crayola dear?

Crayola: *has the biggest smile* I'm sure anything you make I'll like, Mom~ *as she winks playfully*

Lady: *giggles at that before bending over the best she could to pat Crayola's head* Bubble, are you ready?

Bubble: *snickers and smiles at Lady* yes, 'mam! I'll see you around, girls. Don't wait up for me, I'll have my key.

Lady would leave with Bubble, waving goodbye at the girls and lead her off campus.

Lady: They’re a fun bunch to be around.

Bubble: *chuckles* They definitely know how to keep you on your toes.... So to speak.

Lady: Heheheh, I can tell. But it looks like I'll be bringing more sweets than before. Crayola ate the whole plate! *Mumbles to herself* And I thought Danny was bad..

Bubble: *snickers* Better her then me, hehehe. Otherwise I won't be able to fit into my jeans this fall.. *Remembering the fat comment the guy made earlier*

Lady: Oh don't you fret over that. A little thickness never hurt anypony. You look fine. *Looks down at her round pregnant belly* .... But I can kiss my figure goodbye once this one comes, heheh.

Bubble: *snickers* I'm sure your fiancé will love you no matter what you look like. Plus you gain something so much more in return... or so I've heard, hehehe

Lady: *continue to rub her belly as they walked along, smiling and wagging her tail.* That's very much true... ~ looks up Ah, here we are. The kids should be home by now as well.

Looking ahead, there was a large house on a hill top. Beyond there appeared to be the edge of Sweet Apple Acres. The lights were on, showing ponies were home. Approaching the door, Lady unlocked it.

Lady: Hello everypony, I’m hooooo- OH MY GOODNESS!!! Bubble, duck!!!

Bubble: Wha-what?!

Lady: *blinks once before smiling at her and reaching out a hand to shake* Pleasure is all mine. Hmm... Seeing how many of you there are here I might just have to double the batches of cookies I make, heheh!

Night: *takes Lady's hand and shake it, but before letting go, she'd turn Lady's hand and see her claws* ... Pardon me for staring.. I've just never met a hippodrake before, mam. *before giving her head a little bow for respect before releasing Lady's hand*

Lady: *perks her ears* Oh..! Thank you for noticing, heheh. Most ponies just think I'm a new breed of batpony, heheh..

Night: *shows a small smile and extend her wing, showing the feathers and webbing* I too almost thought the same, being half batpony myself.

Crayola: *looks up with her cheeks stuffed in cookies, spitting crumbs out as she asked* Hippo-whatta? What's that?

Lady: * turns to look at Crayola, using magic to pick up a napkin from the table and gently clean up her face*

Bubble: *smiles and sips her tea* Hippodrake.. or dracony. Lady here is half-dragon.

Crayola: *chirps a little and smiles wide* Wait, really? That's pretty wicked! *her tail starting to wag*

Spellbind: *comes back with another cup of tea for Lady* Here you go, Miss Lady. Careful, it's a bit hot!

Lady: * takes the tea smiles* Thank you dear. *Sips* And yes, I am. *Looks to Crayola* But I'm a different kind of Hippodrake, heheh. *Closes her eyes and opens them, they're black. Everyone but Bubble flinched a tiny bit and took a step back from Lady* Never gets old.~

For a little bit, the roommates didn't say anything. Lady's eyes glimmered as she looked down at their chests.

Lady: My my, your hearts are just pounding right now.

Night: *ears perk up* Heat vision? or...

Bubble: *sips her tea, amused by everyone's reactions now that she's on the other side of it*

Lady: *nods her head* That, and I can see your heartbeats and skeletal systems. These are my forms of night vision. I'm a Nocturnal Hippodrake.

Spellbind: *looks a bit surprised* I read about Nocturnal Dragons once.. I thought that they were... * stops herself*

Night: *finished her sentence* Extinct... or at least gone for the most part, possibly migrated to another land..

Lady: *ears would swivel back for a bit* Hiding, is more close to the truth.. I'm surprised there's mention of us at all in any Equestrian books..

Night: *simply shakes her head* They weren't. I read it in a documentary written by a nature conservationists who had the pleasure to work with a nocturnal.

Lady: *ears would perk up and she'd have a smile on her face, emitting a slight purring noise* I see. Heheh, good to know. Mako will be very glad to hear this when he returns.

Spellbind: *taps her hooves on the ground anxiously as she looked at Lady* That.. being said, I was very interested in a few things I read about Nocturnals.. Could I bother you with a few... tiny little questions? *as she sits down on the couch next to Lady*

Lady: *blinks at her a few times, slightly surprised* Oh, of course! I don't mind one bit.

Spellbind: *bubbling over herself a little, as she pulled a parchment and quill from her bag and started writing down notes* Splendid! Oh goodness, where to begin--

Crayola: Can you breath fire?!!

Spellbind: Crayola!

Lady: *unable to help but laugh at that, looking at Crayola* Yes, I can. Sometimes I don't need to breathe it though. *Lifts up her hand and a small spark appears before her hand is engulfed in blue fire*

Crayola: *pupils become round and she's starts breathing heavy* Sooo... cooooooool~

Spellbind: *ears perk* Oh, is that because you were born with a Unicorn's horn or is that related to the "Nocturnal Magic" I read about?

Lady: It's the Nocturnal magic. *The fire dies down* I may be able to use magic with my horn, but it is very limited.. For obvious reasons. *Pokes the broken tip* But, my Nocturnal magic helps balance it out, even if I don't use it very often.

Spellbind: *tail would start to wag a little* Thats.. uh.. actually what I wanted to ask you about... How are Nocturnals able to use magic? And.... can it be learned?

Lady: *chuckles* The vast majority of every dragon species can use magic. The ones ponies know most about, the magic they possess is tied to a single leader. Nocturnals don't have a "Dragon Lord" or anything like that. Our magic is something we're born with. But some are stronger with it than others. It's not something that can be taught.

Spellbind: *silently scribble down her notes, but her ear would give a bit of a twitch* That is pretty fascinating, hehe. What kind of magic do you know personally? The average unicorn only knows a hand full of spells, mainly levitation, hehehe.

Lady: I know only a handful as well. I'm not really a spell caster like my father, heheh. But I was able to cast a temporary transformation spell. Unfortunately, it only lasted about ten hours. I'm still trying to relearn magic.

Bubble: *ears would perk at that* Transformation spell?

Lady: Well, I suppose it's more of an illusion spell? I tried to hide my dragon features for a while, but the spell is faulty because I might've looked like a normal pony, but my wings- *stretches them* were still able to be touched even though they weren't visible.

Night: *tilts her head* Why would you want to hide your wings? I think they are unique to who you are and... if I'd be so bold... beautiful and one of a kind..

Crayola: *sprawls out on the carpet, belly full of cookies* Right? I wish I was part dragon! That sounds like it would be awesome~

Lady: *blushes at their comments and her tail would wag* It was just a Uhm... Difficult time for me is all. I did that when I was a teenager, heheh. Pressure to fit in, one of those phases..

Spellbind: *chuckles as she adjusts her glasses* hehe, I think we all know how that is. None of us here judges you, we all try to hide who we really are at one point or another..

Bubble: *has such a good poker face right now, just silently sipping the last of her cold tea*

Lady: *smiles* It's a phase that just takes time to get through. Long as you have someone there to help.

Crayola and Spellbind would look at each other and smile at each other. Night would think back at her family... and Bubble just remains silent, before standing to put her mug in the sink.

Bubble: *glances at the clock*.. oh.. It's starting to get late. I'm surprised you haven't gotten any frantic calls from your fiancé yet, thinking you got foalnapped or something, hehehe.

Lady: *perks up her ears* OH! Oh no! *Checks her phone.... 5 missed calls* oh dear.. I'm not going to hear the end of this, Heheheh. *Gets up, rubbing her belly* This has been fun girls, but I'm afraid I must go home. Oh! And I'll be foalnapping Bubble for the night as well, Heheheh~

Crayola would whine, and Spell would pout a little, and Night would stand as well.

Night: Thank you for coming over, It was pleasure meeting you, Miss Lady.

Spellbind: Please, feel free to come back whenever you like. I have plenty of more questions~

Crayola: And thanks for the cookies, they were delicious! *wags her tail happily*

Lady: It was wonderful meeting you all. And I'll be sure to bring by more sweets when I do visit~ Any requests, Crayola dear?

Crayola: *has the biggest smile* I'm sure anything you make I'll like, Mom~ *as she winks playfully*

Lady: *giggles at that before bending over the best she could to pat Crayola's head* Bubble, are you ready?

Bubble: *snickers and smiles at Lady* yes, 'mam! I'll see you around, girls. Don't wait up for me, I'll have my key.

Lady would leave with Bubble, waving goodbye at the girls and lead her off campus.

Lady: They’re a fun bunch to be around.

Bubble: *chuckles* They definitely know how to keep you on your toes.... So to speak.

Lady: Heheheh, I can tell. But it looks like I'll be bringing more sweets than before. Crayola ate the whole plate! *Mumbles to herself* And I thought Danny was bad..

Bubble: *snickers* Better her then me, hehehe. Otherwise I won't be able to fit into my jeans this fall.. *Remembering the fat comment the guy made earlier*

Lady: Oh don't you fret over that. A little thickness never hurt anypony. You look fine. *Looks down at her round pregnant belly* .... But I can kiss my figure goodbye once this one comes, heheh.

Bubble: *snickers* I'm sure your fiancé will love you no matter what you look like. Plus you gain something so much more in return... or so I've heard, hehehe

Lady: *continue to rub her belly as they walked along, smiling and wagging her tail.* That's very much true... ~ looks up Ah, here we are. The kids should be home by now as well.

Looking ahead, there was a large house on a hill top. Beyond there appeared to be the edge of Sweet Apple Acres. The lights were on, showing ponies were home. Approaching the door, Lady unlocked it.

Lady: Hello everypony, I’m hooooo- OH MY GOODNESS!!! Bubble, duck!!!

Bubble: Wha-what?!
