Saturday stream got out of control. I didn't listen, actually finished piece.
Half way through, finishing the first wing I said I was probably gonna end it there for today, but let's just do one more brushstroke...
Welp.
Been wanting to do Fluttershy in a historical style painting for a while, tho it's not exactly what the initial concept was. It's based on the idea I had when I made Rainbow Dash's: Caelesti Colorum
Going more anthro, and different complexity of design. But still focusing on some of the other aspects.
Anyhow, this went surprisingly smooth... I cut corners, or well, the usual rough brushing instead of going further into refinement. But that's normal these days for me hah.

the shading is good, but not suited for cartoon horse subjects.
I guess you looked at some stats, and figured you'd get views, if u throw a cartoon horse head on there. which seems to have worked.
but dont mean this audience will translate for you..
body and hand gestures seem unnatural and uncomfortable ; not graceful .

To be honest, for purely the reason that the shading isn't well suited for cartoons, it doesn't seem like this artist is "selling out" at all. I'm guessing the audience for hyper realistic mlp art is not too big, and the reason this artist gets attention is because the art is extremely well drawn, not because it's based in cartoons.

I've been coming back to look this over again and again this week. . . . . .. I like the absolute complete mastery of anatomy you demonstrate here. The old school classical color palate and light schemes, is just jaw dropping.

Some people just think it's a fun show, just because it's aimed at younger audience, doesn't mean older people can't enjoy it.
Everybody has a different reason, some watch show for the characters, some for story, some for fun and some, like myself, don't even watch the show and just enjoy drawing
