!!!!! You guys don't even know how much I love this picture and how it came out!!!!I just love the emotions that come to mind, like RD is trying to deny he has feelings for Shy but you know he still has feelings for her and he knows it but he keeps trying to deny it and he probs thought seeing her again wouldn't affect him but no he is friggen destroyed and he's so frustrated and I think I am getting a little too wrapped up in my own head canons.

Storming down the hallway of his opulant chateau, his absent glare a thunderhead that sends any who happen to find themselves unfortunate enough to be in his way to scatter. Behind him, the sounds of the party, his party, echo through the empty spaces that he finds inside his home as he marches, adding more fuel to the already raging, twisting, inferno inside his mind.
And yet the sound he finds echos loudest is her laugh. The sight that burns him deepest is her smile. The feeling that wounds him deeply is the ghostly memory of her touch.
As he walks, he is nearly blinded by the memories of dancing with her in the ballroom, the scent of her expensive perfume filling his nose and befuddling his sense. For a moment he is force to stop and lean against the wall in a dark corner of the hallway, a hoof going to his heart as he tries to make it stop hamering through sheer force of will.
He tells himself that his heart beats so fiercely because her betrayal burns all that more, that seeing her happy with one of his former friends is the ultimate scorn after all the nights he had thought of her. That she had been the sole thing to keep him going while trapped between those four, constricting, cold, walls.
Yet, as he pushes away from the wall, he finds his memories of her to only make his heart swell and the darkness to recede. For a moment, the ghost of a smile, genuine and loving, crosses his face only to be quickly stamped out and turned into a scowl.
Already he can feel his heart yearning to turn him around and go to the ballroom, to sweep her off her hooves and beg her for forgiveness. Hurrying to his spacious room, which is far more spacious than anything he had ever dreamed of even before he had been imprisioned, he slams the door shut and leans back against the polished wood. Sliding to the cool wooden floor, Dantes wraps his arms around himself as he feels his heart slowly breaking in two.
He had thought, perhaps, seeing her again would be easy. That seeing her betrayal person would make what he must do all the easier. He never expected, never... dreamed, that the mare he had loved would still....
Closing his eyes, he feels all the tears he had held back while dancing with Mercedes, his hollow desires to have her in his arms again wrenching a sob from somewhere deep in his chest. And as he cries, he knows that no matter what titles he bears, fine clothing he wears, and fancy houses he owns.
He knows.
His heart will always belong to her. And her alone.

And, no, you're not getting too wrapped up in your own head canon. I could write an entire book off of this single picture, the emotion in it is so... profound? Clear? Honestly, there may not be a perfect word for just how emotional this piece is.
