Remember when I uploaded those WIP pics of some of my playing cards I was designing for yr 12 Design and never showed the finished product? Well here they are!(Note: I do not know if I will be keeping these worlds in my actual story).
The back of the cards, the design on this has specific refrence to the story and realms in which it is located.
The three smaller circles are the three different 'sub-realms' which my characters inhabit. The top one is of a flower, which represents the Mortal Realm, where the majority of their story is located.
The left one is of the Demon Realm (image of a sleeping bat) where all manner of monsters recide and the one on the right (bird)Β is the Guardian Realm (still thinking about its name.) A very intelligent race of tricksters and backstabbers live there. They once used to be good but decided to only look out for them selves.
There are two circles in the center, the outer circle represents the Dream Realm, which is on the edge of the Dead Realm.
(The one with swirls in it is the Dream Realm, those are suposed to be clouds or mist)(The circle with fire in it is the Dead Realm, the fire represents the souls of the dead).
The Dream Realm is ruled by Sleep, who is a jerk.
The Dead Realm is ruled by her older sister Death, Polter, Soul and Miles all work for her.

This reminds me very much of the indie game "Don't Starve." Have you seen it? I think you would enjoy the art style.

Yeah, I was actually heavily inspired by Don't Starve while designing these, (and Tim Burton) I just love those art styles!

All the cards look awesome! I really like the design (especially this one, the back.) Is it already possible to read the story anywhere? You'll draw a comic right? (:

I haven't written a story anywhere, I'm still trying to figure out where it should go (i've re-written it soo many times) but I think I will post up some short parts from it or general ideas I have for it sometime.
Comics and I have such a tortured relationship, I want to draw them, I'm just not very good at it. I can never figure out the lay out for them. But i'll still probably draw pictures for it.

I Β so understand you with that problem ;__; It's not just how big or small every panel should be, but also how to arange then. Next, how to pose the characters. Many people just draw heads all the time, but to make it real dynamic there is so much more one must pay attention at..! Also speech bubbles... where to place them? Too big, too small? How much can they say?
Oh and then there is that you actually have to draw all this... not stop at the third page because it's getting to exhausting..! Drawing comics is really difficult..^^

Only really exhausting for me are comics where in every panel there is like twice as much text as picture...

You really put quite a bit of thought and work into these designs! The result is really nice and shows its own identity: grim, fantasy-like, and somewhat cartoony at the same time.
Will you be making a complete deck, or just these ones for kicks-and-giggles?

Thanks and I think it could be fun to come back to these cards and draw up some designs for the rest of them, possibly as a project inbetween all my other work I'm doing, but I'll definately be thinking about it.

That would be nice indeed! I actually would be interested in having a whole deck of cards like that... although it would probably prove quite pricey.
At any rate, I'd be glad to see more!
