This is the batpony that made a little appearance at the end of our "Hello my Ditzy, Hello my Derpy" animatic.

Name: The Count, Count Dragul

Species: Bat Pony/Vampire

Appearance: Pale red coat, black mane with grey and white stripe through it, red slit-pupil eyes, he was a pegasi, but after being bitten by a vampire, he turned into a bat pony with abnormally large wings. His cutiemark was turned into a bleeding bat. He’s not a vampire fruit bat pony like Fluttershy, it was a full blood vampire that bit him, hence he needs to drink blood, even though he doesn’t want to. He usually wears his wings like a cape due to their size. They also make him a lot stronger during flight so he can carry more weight than if his wings were normal size.

Occupation: He is the host of a children’s television show (in an Equestria where TV exists), or he just works with children telling stories.

Personality: He has a subdued personality, never emoting too much emotion. Especially around adults, he dislikes their company finding them idiotic with how they expect everyone to act a certain way and judging everyone on how they look. He prefers the more honest, innocent and happy ways children live their lives, never letting small things bother them and without prejudice against one another. He finds their company much better and cares for their wellbeing. He gets very protective of foals and feels more comfortable talking to them, he doesn’t talk down to them but instead as an equal believing they can understand things just as much as adults. He seems grumpy around adults but is confident and seductive with how he talks, but he has vanity issues and is too much in love with himself to be in love romantically with anyone else. He isn’t interested in a romantic relationship with anyone and prefers a good story to anything else. He has a secret that he’s told no one, and that is that he is a vampire. It happened very long ago and he never speaks of it but he feels ashamed of what he is, he harms creatures to survive and wishes he didn’t have to. He fears what the children would think of him if they knew, he doesn’t want to be the monster they fear under their beds, he wants to be the pony they can ask for help in a time of need. But now he’s moved to Ponyville, in search of a new life and hopefully to find a way to get rid of his vampirism.

Additional notes: His creation was inspired by ‘Count von Count’ from Sesame Street because of the “Count Song (Censored)” but he is NOT a ponified version of Sesame’s Count, just similar. Because they are both vampires and have children tv shows, but where Sesame’s Count likes to count, our Count likes to read storybooks. Dracula is also an inspiration.
