Description A 'repaint' I did using Instructions for Armada Cyclonus I scanned myself from the copy of the instructions that came with the toy.

The next entry into the Actionmaster Project, and frankly, I’m not very thrilled with it. Banzai-Tron. It’s especially painful for me, ‘cause I love Banzai-Tron so much, and I just think this is an unworthy repaint of him. He was kind of tricky, because while he has a very detailed and nice sculpt (as opposed to Mainframe’s), there are absolutely NO clues to his alt mode. I kinda see him as being some sort of rounder, sleeker, ufo-ish cybertronian seeker jet or something. Give that, I kind of envisioned Thrust to be a possible mold for this guy. But when You think about it, Thrust actually HAD a very similar paint scheme to Banzai-tron in the first place. I don’t want to just ‘swap’ a few colors around (I know, I know, I’ve done it before, but I never LIKE to do it), so I decided to try and give him a different mold. The Cyclonus mold seemed like a fair one, as with the blades and guns, it could definitely be ninja warriorish. After I put the colors on it though…well…I just dunno. He WOULD look good, if not for the loud green and purple messing up his dark main colors. But there’s nothing I can do, since those ARE Banzai-Tron’s colors. Oh well. Nothing I can do about it really. The best I could do with the source material and the mold I suppose. Still though, I do wish Banzai-Tron could get the homage her rightfully deserves.

I also wasn’t happy about uploading him today. I did so want to do Krok today, but after looking at all the mold usage (and mapping out my future uploads) I realized I had to use a Decepticon and the Cyclonus mold, and Banzai-Tron is the only one to fit the bill. Sucks, cause I kinda wish I could have had a bit more time to play around with it and see if I could do any better, but then again, I suppose he’s as close as he can get as is. Oh well. On the plus side, Krok, who I am VERY happy with (and surprised by the mold I used) will be up tomorrow.

The Minicon is Razor-Sharp, after his AM partner. Again, it doesn’t fit very well, but…it’ll have to do. Actually, it DOES sound like it could be the name of a Minicon, just…one that fits the name a LITTLE better then a tank. Oh well though. There have been worse or more inappropriate names in TF history…

Cool!

I like it. I like it alot, actually. Personally, I think the sharp/loud colors contrast very well with his main grey. And he looks like a Decepticon. Very evil. Very ninja. Very Cool!

Well glad SOMEONE is happy with it. Heh, I was beginning to think I couldn't 'apease' you any more, since you didn't seem so keen on my last several aditions. 'Bout time I did something right I guess.

I still think it's a bit to loud, but the more I look at it, the more content I am with it. I'm ok with the vehicle mode, it's just the bot mode that...something just doesn't fit 100% for me. Oh well.

*looks from G1 Banzai-tron and back again to Universe Banzai-tron*

Umm, more yellow on the front of his chest, like the side panels that reach from the front and go onto the sides of the helicopter cockpit maybe? (Right under the panel that hides Razor-Sharp's connection point, between the already small dark grey areas.)

Nah, that's not it. I tried playing around with adding more yellow or orange to the front of his vehicle mode, and it just made it look even more loud and out of place. I just didn't like it.
