A 'repaint' I did using Instructions for Armada Cyclonus I scanned myself from the copy of the instructions that came with the toy.

Here’s the next member of the “Gestalt Project” Combaticons, and the last of the ‘limb’ members, Vortex. Didn’t really have a whole lot of choice with this guy, since Cyclonus is the only Helicopter in both Armada and Energon. At first, I thought it would be an awesome mold for Vortex, ‘cause Cyclonus is armed to the teeth, and so was Vortex when his weapons were attached. As I tried re-coloring it though, I realized that it was just to dang hard to make a good match with the colors, because in vehicle mode, Vortex was primarily ONE color, and Cyclonus is just chock full of them. I don’t think it looks too bad, and I think the robot mode is pretty spot on, but as for the vehicles mode, I just think it’s a bit to colorful and there’s ‘too much going on’. Still though, I’d be happy to call this one a Vortex homage.

His Minicon would be named after one of the Decepticon military Micromasters (btw, if anyone hasn’t checked out Dreamwave’s Micromasters comic, get it, it’s pretty damn cool), keeping in the tradition with the other Combaticon’s Minicons. Vortex’s would be Bombshock.
