Description A 'repaint' I did using Instructions for TF: CYBERTRON Sideways downloaded from Hasbro's official Transformers website, [link] , and then edited by me. (I had to draw in all the details on the wings, the ‘weapon’ and a few other spots)

Yet another of the comic-only characters, Ferak. Who? Yeah, he appeared in an early issue, ONLY in his odd vehicle mode. He killed some even MORE poorly designed generics, and then got his jet ass handed to him by Blaster (who at the time, you’d think was the next coming of Primus the way he was portrayed in the comics…). His ONLY real claim to fame was that he was the very first official use of the term “Seeker”, despite the fact that he looks nothing like what we’ve all come to know as the TF seekers. His colors were one-tone, but changed in every pic, so I just made up his repaint colors from the color(s) he appeared to be.

Here’s Ferak’s page over at the Obscure Transformer Website: [link]

Artwork is © Hasbro, only edited and colored by me (and halfassed at that) in plain ol' MS paint. Do not edit, re-use, or re-color.

Oh, that is such a cool repaint. That very lite green really goes a long way to constrasting the real dark tones of the rest of the 'bot mode. Never would have thought to use this mold to make Ferak, even if what becomes the robot mode's shield on the back of the alt-mode looks so much like the comic version of this Seeker's design.

Very cool repaint, and great idea to intergrate all the various shades he was colored in in the comic onto the mold (even if it does look a bit drabish... heh. )

Thanks! I guess both one of the plus's AND minus's about redesigning these obscure characters is how much room for interpretation there is. I mean, when ya actually look at the original, it's just a weird, dull looking cybertronian ufo/boomerang looking ship. Lots of room to turn that into something cool. BUT, you are kinda stuck with the dull and drab colors. I like to think it still managed to make it interesting looking, with the variants in the shades and such. I'm glad the neon yellow/green (was trying to go for the terrorcon energon color in TF: Energon) manages to add that dash of color it needs to make it interesting.

I just hope i managed to make it NOT look like G1 Cyclonus enough...hehe

I'm gonna go out and say that G1 Cyclonus never crossed my mind when I looked at it. Although I was suprised at how much Decepticon-ish the colors look, without falling into the whole black/purple thing. Also noticed that the Cyber Key was that freaky shade of evil green energon. Is there something to that or is it just because of the plastic trees?

Yeah, that was my second thought, he looked like a decepti-clone seeker. but that might be kinda appropriate. as for the key color, no reason, it was just cause the plastic tree thing unfortunatly.
