A 'repaint' I did using Instructions for TF: CYBERTRON Crumplezone downloaded from Hasbro's official Transformers website, [link]Optimal Primal.
Dammit Sigma, you French Canadian bastard! See what happens when you’re around to talk to? Just like that damnable Leobreaker-into-Groundbreaker (hmm, weird, I never noticed the similarities in the names until I just typed them out now…) repaint that I just couldn’t get out of my head until I did it, our conversation in my Crumplezone-into-Apeface repaint got this damn thing stuck in my head and it wouldn’t leave me alone until I did it. ~SigmaCore asked if the Apeface repaint meant I had a Crumplezone-into-Optimus Primal repaint planned. I said no, because I HATE Optimus Primal. But I did give it to him that the Crumplezone mold did mirror Optimal Optimus reasonably well in every mode. And I couldn’t stop thinking about it. This damn m***** f****** mold just seems made for Optimal Optimus, and it wouldn’t leave me alone until I tried the repaint. Oh sure, I had other stuff I was working on, like cleaning up Evac’s lineart and trying to redraw all the mold changes to the Cyb Armada remolds, but no, this thing forced itself to take precedence. So here. I still hate Optimus Primal, and Optimal Optimus is one of the lamest tf’s of the beast era, but this repaint HAD to happen. Apparently.
Oh, and the purple and blue are supposed to be a shiny ass, almost-but-not-quite-chrome, metalic paint. Like they did with Cyb Galvatron.

It's kinda funny, but it almost looks like my pre-Optimus Primal, Pitstop, only with a darker shade.

I made you do this just by asking a question?! HA! That's hilarious! And it's of Optimal Optimus to boot! 
I actually meant season 1 Primal's colors on this guy, but this is just to good (or bad, depending on the point of view) to not stop for a moment or two to look upon it and laugh myself silly. 
Are you ever going to do BW Rattrap outta Brakedown? Cheetor outta Override? Rhinox outta (deluxe) Red Alert? TM Rhinox outta CD Red Alert? TM Cheetor outta CD Hot Shot? Airrazor outta Thundercracker? TM2 Megs outta Cyb Megatron? TM Terrorsaur (and Ravenous for that matter) outta Brimstone? Universe Frostbite outta Snarl?
And so on and so forth...

I know what ya meant, but when i thought about it, this mold and Op Op had so much in common, i couldn't deny it, and believe me, i wanted to.
And the WORST part is, as much of a bad joke of a repaint this is, it got ALOT more attention and priase then alot of my other (IMO) BETTER pieces. People are fools.
As for the BW cast as the others, I've seen that guys sig who did the cyb cast as the maximals. and surprisingly, i've been asked repeatedly from various people to do that too. But thats that guys idea, and i wouldn't use it based on that alone. Add the fact that i just don't like BW chars that much, and i doubt i'd make any of those repaints.
Though Ravenous is a pretty safe bet i'll try that at some time (Red and Black fools!) and I like that Frostbite idea. Though it might just be a little tpo close to the carnivac idea i was already planning.

Wasn't Ravenous dark green and grey instead of black? Anyways, glad ya liked at least a couple of those, especially Frostbite's. And as for him looking to much like Carnivac, well couldn't you use the inner robot's colors insted of the shell's? (brown wolf does kinda make sense, yes?)

Speaking of the Cyb Snarl mold... I've had an idea running around in my head lately that I think you can help me with. That is, if you want and/or have the time to. Since Hasbro went along and slapped G1 Repugnus' name and colors on Undermine, I was thinking they could possibly do the same for the other two Monsterbot characters on existing Cybertron toys, namely Grotusque on Snarl's mold (using the redder "base" color from the DW Universe books) and Doublecross on Scourge's mold (dunno if you have Scourge's lineart cleaned up, tho'.)
And ya can say no to this, too. I'll just eventually do these myself with my pixarts but I really wanted to see these done up as actual toys (or anything close to an actual toy) before I pixelated it.

Sigh. Optimal Optimus. I don't know why I bought it, as it's just a big hunk of plastic joints and wings jutting out in every direction. I have long since lost the instructions and have been too lazy to find any online, and can't do a thing with him. I wish I could turn him back into the money I spent on him and buy Cybertron Optimus. I think we were all excited about Op Op back then because we were completely starved for vehicles. Oh well.

I got a bootleg one myself about 6 months ago. only spent $8 on a near perfect one (lights and missile firing gimics were disabled, and his 3 piece arm armor was molded into 2 pieces instead. but other then that, he's a perfect clone. chrome and everything.) And even with all that considered, i feel ripped off, heh.

...huh? I think you don't understand what I was trying to do, and I don't understand what you're talking about.
This is suposed to be a homage to the Beast Wars Character/Figure "Optimal Optimus" which was the huge and weird form/upgrade Optimus Primal got in season 3 after merging his spark with the original G1 Optimus Prime's. He was this weirdly proportioned robot, that also had a gorilla mode, an armored car thing, and a weird jet thing. It was...odd to say the least.
