A 'repaint' I did using Instructions for Armada Galvatron downloaded from Hasbro's official Transformers website, [link]Here’s everyone’s favorite Decepticon ‘Ninja Consultant,’ Sixshot. This idea just kinda hit me outta no where, but I’m very pleased with it. It also, apparently, was the burst of creativity I needed to get me going again. Well, anyone who keeps up with Transformers news/rumors would know that ORIGINALLY in Armada, Powerlinx Demolishor was supposed to be colored in G1 Sixshot’s colors. Fans loved the idea. Apparently, the change was made to late in the game (the animators need this info long before hand to, you know, animate it,) and by the time this decision was made, they had already started animating him in the original PL colors. A shame, truly. It would have rocked. We were supposed to ‘maybe/probably’ get the Sixshot-esque Demolishor in TFU (along with all the OTHER Armada repaints we never got) but so far, nada. I still had my hopes though, when now in Energon, the repaint of Shockblast is going to be called Sixshot. Again, I HAD High hopes, until I saw pics of his ugly ass, piss yellow color scheme. If THAT’s what passes as a “Sixshot”, then I think we can all do without. Sucks, cause I think Shockblast’s mold could really carry a Sixshot color scheme.
Anyways, I had a Demolishor in Sixshot colors as a WIP, and it looked pretty good. When I was playing around with the Megatron mold though (actually, the idea came from my bootleg, knock-off Megatron, that has a sweet ass head with a facemask that could totally pull off Sixshot’s head, but I just applied the same idea to Arm Megs), it struck me like a ton of bricks that he could totally pull a decent Sixshot off. See, it’s hard to find figures you can use the Megatron mold to make a homage of, because he has SO many different colors, and they’re spread all over his body, with no real ‘order’. Only colors that ALL mesh REALLY well together work on it, because if you have ANYTHING that doesn’t mix well, it’ll stick out on Megatron like a sore thumb. And since his random colored pieces are spread throughout, it’ll stick out in every nook and cranny it habitats. I’ve had lots of ideas for this mold, but none of them seem to work out for this exact reason. Sixshot is one of the very rare exceptions. (The only other one is Onslaught, who looks sooooo good on this mold. Can’t wait to finish up and unleash my Armada Combaticons…) Anyways, I LOOOOOOVE the ‘bot mode, though the vehicle mode is iffy. It’s not bad or anything, it just doesn’t give off that Sixshot vibe nearly as well as his bot mode does. Oh well, I’m still quite happy with him.
As for the minicon, I dunno what to name him. I think I’d use either Greatshot, Quickswitch, or Six Knight. Greatshot was originally a later repaint and remold of Sixshot, Quickswitch was the Autobot’s equivilant to Sixshot (though far inferior) who also, according to his MTMTE bio, is kinda obsessed with Sixshot, and Six Knight is a Japanese repaint of Quickswitch, who was rumored to sorta be a reincarnated/upgraded Sixshot. The only reason I have a hard time deciding which one is because all of them COULD be potential future repaints and ideas for me. If anyone thinks one of these names fits better then the next, lemme know, otherwise, he’ll just be Sixgreatquickshotswitchknight. Yeah…that’ll do for now. I KNOW I’ll never need to use THAT name for anything ever again.
