Description
A 'repaint' I did using Instructions for Energon Hotshot I scanned myself from the copy of the instructions that came with the toy.The forth member, and last of the “limb components” for the “Gestalt Project” Protectobots, Streetwise. I decided to use the E Hotshot mold for him, because even though it wasn’t intended to be a police car, with those light ‘things’ on it’s roof, it makes a perfect one. I had a bit of trouble deciding whether or not to use this, or the Arm Hotshot mold, but in the end, I went with this one, and I’m glad I did. I think police colors look pretty good on the mold. Sort of like with the Groove repaint I did, in G1, Streetwise had a color variation too, though much less noticeable. Some of the old toys were done with white plastic, some with a slight off-white. I decided to go with the off-white with this one, thanks in no small part, to wanting to differentiate this as much as possible from the G1 Prowl repaint I have for this mold, heh. I’m pretty happy with this guy, I just wish the line art in his robot mode was done a little better, especially in the face/head area. Oh well.

Looks nice, and you really made a good choice of using the off-white instead of just plain white (since three outta the five Protectobots use white as a primary color), but I thought you where gonna paint something else as the police lights, mainly the two black 'tabs' he has on his roof... (Kinda like what they did for E: Energon Hot Shot, who now actually looks more like a police car because of this.)

Yeah, I definitly like the off-white color too. He would just be too damn bright with all that red AND bright white. While a minor and small change, I think it tones him down just the right amount. And as for the police lights, I just don't think those parts of his back window/roof look much like police lights to me. Since I saw these...things...on his roof, I always thought they would make good police lights. I think it would be much more convioncing if one was red and one was blue, but Streetwise only had red lights, so I decided against it. I dunno...maybe I'll play around with those parts as the lights on the Prowl repaint i'm planning. I'll see how that works out...
