A 'repaint' I did using Instructions for Armada Sideswipe downloaded from Hasbro's official Transformers website, [link]I hate, hate, hate, hate, HATE the Armada Sideswipe mold. Maybe because everything is wrong about it. The mold, the Minicon, the colors, the names, the 'features', all of it. (Though I still bought it, and would probably buy a good repaint.) Yet, it's STILL one of the sweetest vehicle modes outside G1. This is yet another of the few repaints that came to me almost immediately, probably because I disliked it SO much. I thought it would be perfect for Jazz, as the car mode was similar enough, the robot mode acceptable, the head was DEAD on, and this way, those stupid car chunks hanging off his legs could actually have a FUNCTION, but more on that later. Even the Minicon would fit, as I'd name him Groove. It's Jazz and Groove! How good do those two names/characters mesh together.
This was one of, if not THE most 'paint' heavy repaint I've done, with all the racing stripes. they were HARD to do. For someone as unskilled as me at least. I couldn't even add the half of the '4' to his arm in robot more, and I wasn't able to do the decals for his door unfortunately. But I thought at least THIS much was necessary to show this baby off as Jazz. In 'bot mode, I added some 'speaker' decals to the door chunks, so now they have a purpose! They're his mind-numbing sound system! Whoo! Now Jazz and Groove can dance the night away.
Anyways, even though it's a mold I hate(though I've got 3-5 repaints of him already, go figure), I love him as Jazz. I'm quite proud of this one.

Holy wow! Nice! I always thought he looked similar to jazz, solely because of his visor I suppose.
And what IS it with Hasbro and their "repainting Sideswipe" fetish? I mean how many different versions have there been in universe already??? @_@;; mind boggling, I tells ya. Also agree with the bad mold, even though I have one myself. He's just... ugh. His hips scare me for one, and the "saddle bags" on either side of his legs are gaudy, and... well... no knee articulation, or head articulation to the left or right, or the "tail" in between his legs that flips up and down.... But hey, he has charm... >.>;

Yes, this mold has so many problems, i don't know what Has/Tak was thinking releasing it ONCE, much less their infinite suply of repaints of the guy. Still though, I've done a lot of repaints of this mold, and i think this Jazz one is the only one that would actually make me buy that mold again, hehe.
(Now watch me rush to be the first one in line to buy the slightly remolded, but painted 100 times better "Runabout" repaint they're releasing in Galexy Force/Cybertron, hehe)

Oh yeah, I remember seeing that on S-tron.... and when they say "remold", it's just a new head, right? or did they do a little bit of work to the body...?
I'm nuts about the upcoming GF line overall.... Namely Accelion and First Aid (more than likely Hotshot and Red Alert in english)... and Starscream. They all look so purdy... It's like Hasbro/Takara redeemed themselves after the repaint craze in Energon...

No, in 'bot mode, all that's remolded is his head (and maybe a little of his chest). It's in vehicle mode most of the remolding is, giving him that sweet ass "block" engine. Seems like SOMEONE would have thought to remold all his sucky car kibble in bot mode though. D'ah well.
And yeah, I don't think there's ANY toys in GF that I don't love. Well, that's not true, I HATE the new Megatron and i think Thundercracker is pretty sucktastic, but other then them, I think Has/Tak has totally made up for any and every "lame" toy for the past few years with how simply stunning these new figures are. I can't WAIT for that new mototrcycle one (Gasket i think is nis name), and Wolfang.

Well done. I actually hate this mold less now. Damn you, now I'll probably pick up the Universe repaint! Ok, maybe only for Crystal Widow. Still, as Jazz this doesn't look half bad. Good one!

Thank you. Yeah, i agree. This mold sucks. I hate it, as well as all the 1-tone, slight repaints that hasbro see's fit to release. Still though, With paint scheme's like this, it's actually tollerable. I'd buy this guy, and probably not even complain about the crap ass mold. mostly. Hehe.

First thing I thought when I saw this mold was how much better he would've looked in Jazz's colour scheme.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. At least then there could be something likable about the character, as well as some potential use for that ugly ass leg kibble.
And yeah, these instruction repaints sure beat ruining all my toys, heh.

I'd buy that. Heck, I'd buy four! I really dislike all that was done to poor Sideswipe in Armada (especially the blue and his personality on the show), but this would save the mold for me. Just like the planned Armada PL Hot Shot/Smokescreen repaint in Universe.
And don't get me started on the Mini-con.

Yeah, i think Groove here when WITH Jazz, is the only halfway acceptable form of this minicon. And I agree, the Smokescreen repaint rocks, but I DID like the PL Hotshot colorscheme too. Just wish they could have gave him the revised Face AND made the face shield movable. That piece was the ONLY thing that made 'ugly as sin yellow' hotshot tolerable, he could have that badass helmet head. But...I will buy a repaint no matter what, so long as it ain't neon yellow, heh.
