Sure, I'm a little behind the times, what with all this beautiful Avengers-related art gracing the pages of deviantART. [In fact, I've been avoiding looking at all the great art, just so I don't get jealous and think "I should have done that!]BUT. I'm obsessed; seriously, I am.
Before I saw the Avengers (and then Thor) I did not understand the Loki/Hiddles phenomenon.
Well, color me converted. The entire cast of that movie rocked, but Tom Hiddleston brought something deep and sympathetic and beautiful to this character. As a "villain," especially in Thor, he was very nuanced. And Hiddleston's performance was glorious.
I had so much fun doing this piece, which was the most poignant moment of Thor for me. I think I really managed to push myself on this piece, and I feel it's certainly my best so far. Spread the Loki/Avengers love!!

My sister, who was watching the movie with me, looks over at me like I was crazy, then joined me.

hahaha I'm also a recent "Hiddlestoner". I've loved him since Midnight in Paris and Thor, but Avengers really kicked my obsession in full gear. This is amazing by the way! It was one of the best moments indeed, along with the part when he screamed "tell me!".

oh gosh! THIS scene!
I'm german, so i watched the film in german first. but when i watched it in english....i was shocked!shocked, how bad his german voice is - or how great his original! and in this scene there is so much.....in german i'd say 'Herzschmerz', so cardiac pain (but metaphoricaly meant...)! sooooooo awesome! so sad! so great!

"Heartwrenching" is the English term--and I felt the exact same way! I'm sorry the German voice didn't match up to his fantastic voice, but I'm glad you enjoyed the scene, and the picture.

Holy cow. I'm not an artist, so I can't really critique this, but I think that this is one of the most amazing Loki art pieces I've seen. It looks realistic and plausible, but it obviously is your own idea.And oh my god, the facial expression. It's sad and slightly tragic and wonderful. You did an amazing job with this, you really did.
And don't worry about being late to jump the Loki bandwagon. I never saw the appeal until I went to the Avengers with my brother and my friends. And Loki was the best thing I'd seen in a movie all year.
Then I ended up finding Hiddles stuff, and I was screwed. I don't think there's a single person who watched the Avengers and didn't at least think Hiddles as Loki was a good performance. Me? The Avengers and Hiddleston sucked me in and hasn't yet spit me back out.

Personally, I'm not a fan of Batman. I like Spider-Man and Iron Man. But the Dark Knight did REALLY WELL when it came out, so I'm interested to how this new one does.
