Description
Galactic Encounter©2010 Michael C. Turner ~ Galactic Visions Space Art
An edge-on view of a spiral, bipolar jetting quasar, galaxy among a local cluster of galaxies. The double beams of polar energy and light are created as matter and energy fall onto the accretion disk surrounding a colossal black hole in the galactic nucleus. Such "dark lords" are the power houses of many galaxies. Rocky debris and other exotic "dark matter" transit the glowing ecliptic from a distance of many light years. Such "galactic encounters" provide intriguing vistas from unique vantage points.

This is lovely. I like how you made the asteroids. Something I would like to learn to do.

Very impressive! You capture the massive power of a star imploding very nicely. I just found your page and I enjoy seeing all the ways you depict space. Keep up the wonderful work!

Your welcome. I am fascinated about what could be out in space and enjoy seeing how others portray what could be there.

Greetings,
I am pleased you like this painting and have added it to your favourites. Even though I did not use the scene from "Empire" as a reference for this painting, I suppose it does have a similar effect.
Best regards,
Michael C. Turner

Greetings,
No problem, I did not think you were. It is one of my favourite scenes as well . . . Since we are, to some extent, part of our experiences I am sure this image was impressed upon my mind regardless of any conscious effort.
My best,
Michael C. Turner
