Greetings,  This painting was crested using acrylic on stretched on stretched fine linen canvas. I used bristle brushes and layered gel/ glaze mediums to create the layered atmospheric effects.

I sincerely appreciate your kind comment. Yes,"Oh Holy Night" does indeed compliment the mood in this painting. Incidentally, I do listen to music while creating my paintings. I feel a painting's atmosphere and mood are somewhat influenced by the same. Interestingly, "Oh Holy Night" was among the instrumental pieces I listened to while working on this painting as was one of my favourites, "Silent Night, Holy Night." . I don't generally (with some exceptions) listen to vocals while painting as they can be distracting. One particular "space music" composer/musician which I listen to is John Serrie (listed under New Age Music, available from Amazon.Com and some of his compositions are on YouTube. I have met him and attended his live performances. I find his compositions most inspiring. He has several Christmas related releases as well and I most particularly listened to those while creating "Cosmic Conception~Immaculate Star~Lord Of Light. One vocal I did listen to entitled "Bethlehem's Star," and beautifully performed by Evie (Tornquist) Karlsson, perhaps had the greatest influence on this year's and my 2009 and 2010 "Christmas In The Stars" Christmas card paintings. I have met Evie and attended her live performances as well. She is a wondrously unique and gifted American/Scandinavian Inspirational/Gospel singer. Her Christmas releases are outstanding. You most certainly should listen to her version of "Oh Holy Night." Her Christmas vocals have been a central part of my "Christmas In The Stars" Christmas musical experience and, along with various space music instrumentals, influenced the atmosphere/mood of my paintings. Evie's music and performances are on YouTube as well. Some of her music is available on Amazon.Com. (She performed mostly in the mid 1970's's to early 1980's although, she released "Bethlehem's Star" only three years ago. I feel you would truly enjoy both John Serrie's captivating electronic instrumentals and Evie's inspired vocals.

Tom Heasley, he's from the USA and produced an album made up of sounds from the Tuba, Digeridoo and Choir vocals. He only has no more than 3 albums, the best being Desert Triptych-titles like 29 Palms, Joshua Tree. This was weird because only the year before I travelled to The Joshua Tree National park and loved it! So everytime I listen to his music it takes me back to my Joshua Tree travels. His work is so haunting and each track lasts approx 20 min each. here is the link [link]
