Description "Neophytes Of The Galactic Oracle" by Michael C. Turner
Copyright 2008 ~ Galactic Visions Space Art"
Acrylic on beveled gallery wrap canvas ~ 48"X60" using traditional bristle brush techniques

A jetting/quasar galaxy, viewed along its galactic plane (edge on view), dominates this scene of an exotic galactic satellite cluster. A nomadic group of intergalactic asteroids, created from the collision of rogue planets pays homage to their new gravitational master, The Galactic Oracle," as "Neophytes” passing though the outer fringes of its outer sanctum . . . with time they shall be part of the galactic inner sanctum as the galaxy's gravitational incantations initiates them into a new realm . . .
(Please see my "Mysterious Galactic Legends" deviation[link] for another view of this galaxy . . . they are actually companion pieces even though the views are light years apart). "Neophytes" was used in conjunction with The Planetary Society and IAAA (International Association Of Astronomical Artists) space art exhibit in Pasadena California for the Mars Pathfinder Mission.

Hi, as an amateur painter and I really love how you make your gas clouds, they look light and so intense at the same time. I wonder if you would care to share some details about your technique. I would love to make spacescapesΒ like yours!

Oh wow, simply beautiful to look at!!
Anybody who doesn't imagine something when they see this has got issues because this is incredible work here!
Looks like it could be the art work for an 80's Star Trek poster!

Greetings,

You are most kind. I am indeed delighted you enjoy this painting. It is a companion piece to my "Mystrious Galactic Legends." If you view the stellar background through the cavern mouth you shall see that this is actually a much closer and detailed view of the same area.

My best to you,
Michael C. Turner

Sweet! It looks like a cool looking entanglement of light in a supernova. I've really got to show my younger sister some of these. She really loves space images.

She doesn't have a DA account and she's way too young to get one. She's almost 13. But I certainly will send her the link to your gallery and get her to take a look.

Cool, it has a good, sharp contrast that relaly give sit a sense of energy (as one would hope to find in a Quasar ) and the colour choice is nice too

Greetings,

Thank you for the compliment and yes, a sense of energy is the theme for this scene with the Quasar galaxy as its central focus . . .

Greetings,

Thank you so very much for your comment. It is actually a companion piece I did to my "Mysterious Galactic Legends" deviation. This galaxy is the same one as viewed from the mouth of the cavern . . . it is the "dragon's firey breath. I have moved this view many light years closer to the "Galactic Oracle"/galaxy in "Neophytes Of The Galactic Oracle."

My best,
Michael C. Turner
