My boyfriend had been wanting me to draw him a corpse carousel for the longest time.. i finally drew it.. unfortunately he doesn't like the background as he was assuming it would be a carnival backgrounf..which makes sense.. I had just been working on the damned thing literally all day into the next day and stopped at 2 am.. so the background hadn't gotten much thought put into it.. I actually like it, but whuteva.. I guess I'll go back to it some day..I don't even think I like the damned carousel anymore.. I had attempted to draw this 4 times and each other time it had completely lost my interest cause it sucked.. i started off trying to do a more realistic and detailed carousel, but it was driving me insane.. so i did a more simplified one..which looks cheesy..I don't want to look at this thing!

i used photoshop to make this piece.. i have grunge brushes that work like stamps.. to dirty up an image and such... they're far back in my gallery

I like the background fine. It makes it look like their in the middle of no where in a fenced in grave yard. Very erie. And the eclipsed moon/sun is a great touch. I love the feel of this painting.

I think the background fits in perfectly with the theme. It almost reminds me of Carnival of Souls except, well, more of a horror-style.

it stands alone gracefully without the carnival in the background . if you did add more to the background i suggest just in silhouette , so as not to take away from the carousel . i like it .

The carousel, although simple, has a lot of detail... which takes away from its simpleness, and thats good. Had you made a more fancy carousel and background it would have taken away from the idea as a whole. I think it is great the way it is. Kind of reminds you of the old days when occasional you would see little carousels in parks all by themselves. I think a carnival background would have taken away from it, and the focus is the characters of the carousel anyway.

I love the idea of the carousel and by now you already know how many times ppl tell you how t a l e n t e d you are.
I hate carousels I fell off it once and couldn't get back up and cried all the way through lunch.

It's hard to do works for other people. What you see isn't always what they imagine it to be.. nonetheless.. it's very spooky good. But fyi.. I don't want to ride on that thing! Almost seems like a cemetery amusement with that background. That's even creepier
