My boyfriend had been wanting me to draw him a corpse carousel for the longest time.. i finally drew it.. unfortunately he doesn't like the background as he was assuming it would be a carnival backgrounf..which makes sense.. I had just been working on the damned thing literally all day into the next day and stopped at 2 am.. so the background hadn't gotten much thought put into it.. I actually like it, but whuteva.. I guess I'll go back to it some day..I don't even think I like the damned carousel anymore.. I had attempted to draw this 4 times and each other time it had completely lost my interest cause it sucked.. i started off trying to do a more realistic and detailed carousel, but it was driving me insane.. so i did a more simplified one..which looks cheesy..I don't want to look at this thing!

I think the background is great, with a background like this you get an element of surprise, as if you could just stumble over it all by itself way back in the corners of an old graveyard when you're out for your sunday walk.. and there it is, twirling around as if it has been doing it from the beginning of time. *shivers*

I think it looks cool. And the plain sort of background makes the carousel stand out instead of belending it.
I've always wondered how you do these. Do you draw them or do them on photoshop or something? I'm interested to learn how to do stuff like this.

I think the background would have taken the focus away from the shocking and ghastly corpses in the foreground, or at least subdued their impact. I think it's gorgeous and is complete because of the textures.. it looks all traditionally done too.. Evokes a very creepy feeling! And 'tis not cheesy, it has sort of a "classic" feel.

personally, i think this is simply amazing, and needs no touching up to be that way, but i'm sur eit COULD be improved upon, but in no wahy, shape, or form, foes this piece need improvement.

carousels are so macabre for me ( I guess for a lot of people), I really hate that cadent movement they have and the horrible slow melodies. I can relate a lot to this image, you explored that feeling, is great!

I think a carnival background would be kind of messy, and would take away from the main focus of the image... which is QUITE scary. I really like this for dark art. Most dark art gets kind of the same after a while... but this I find to be unique
