Description I finished this piece just now. I had a work in progress shot of it in my scraps, but now it's done! spent about 2 and a half more hours on it. I love how it turned out! it's mainly painting, so that's why i put it in this category. the figure is all painted in photoshop and the background is textures and victorian scroll. I also used some of my brushes the original size is huge, so this will be available for print!

Have you done any nude photography (in any genre)? I think Geneve has once and a while. But since my portrait work started, I've dabbled in it more and more as I've progressed. I'd love to see if you have anything.

Yeah, models are few and far between. I've used myself as a nude model but it's difficult to shoot and pose as the same time. You're welcome to view my test photos (despite them not being unfinished). If you like them, mmmaybe I'll put some thought into modeling for other people. It all depends I guess.

no I haven't , but I've actually been thinking about doing it. It would be very resourceful with my digital work as well. The problem is a lack of models.

It's really weird, quite like those aqua paintings of wicked clowns, with lavish colors. The hands are extraordinary, and the , well as i said, sort of aqua paint effect, or pale inks, is quite unusual for you...
it creeps me out..

You've really done a fantastic job and I understand that hours upon hours go into art work, but I think it still looks unfinished. Her left arm stands out particularly to me. There's no detail in it like there is in the hand or the face. The hair looks like it could use more work as well. The detail in the face and the hand stands out SO much and it makes the hair look under worked. There also doesn't seem to be a definate light source and if the values were exaggerated or made a bit clearer, then that would be a definate improvement. I do like where it's at right now, I just thought I should suggest some things.

asunder In reply to dirty-mirror [2006-04-24 19:15:43 +0000 UTC]

hey..thanks for the comments and critique I agree that the hair is definately unfinished.. sometimes i work on a piece for a long time and get to the point where I just can't go on it any longer, then I call it done.. sometimes that works in my favor and sometimes it doesnt. and the hair was upsetting me. I do like how some of her body looks unfinished and is very light in value, though. I wanted a few certain areas to stand out drastically, such as the facial features and the hand. I wasnt going for a super realistic look either, so I didn't concentrate on a specific and accurate light source. I added value where I thought it was important. I do understand your comments though and I appreciate them! it's very helpful, thanks

again, I love the pinkish hues added to the hands, lips, and eyes (eyes mostly!! lol)... this is a wonderful piece, and the title fits!! And where, may I ask, did you find a way to do the background? I love your style ^^
