wow! I think i can see how the fingers can move but how does the thumb move?? I can't see anything that makes a connection with the real thumb...

The thumb connection works the same as the fingers to the palm (ie. cord travels down inside of thumb to palm) then it travels along the edge of the wooden wrist until it passes through an eye bolt behind your actual thumb and attaches to the tip of the glove. So when you move your thumb in towards your palm it pulls the cord and moves the thumb. Hope that helps!

Do you think it would be possible to put a hinge at the base of the hand to make a moveable wrist? I'm working on a cosplay and I was just curious if you think it would be possible.

as in bending forwards and back? it's possible, but it will need some thought as how it's controlled without interfering with the other strings.

Yeah. This is true. Hmmm....I suppose I'll have to give it some thought before I start working on it...

This may seem like a totally and utterly stupid question but can you actually pick stuff up with this? FANTASTIC work btw!

Not very well, but I can pick some things up with it. basically i tried a pop can and it picked it up...squished it a little, but picked it up.

HAHA! Excellent! I'm not really very good with engineering or designing or what not but i am HIGHLY tempted to try and make one that is (and no offence to you and you fabulous creation) capable of easily picking something up I can't get over how cool this thing is haha!

by all means improve on my design. I think it's awesome to see what something I've done has inspired.
