Thanks! It's a very old drawing. Yeah, it's been stolen and "sold" so many times I had to make it a little less stealable boo

I reproduce comic stuff, whatre the rules on that??
π: 0 β©: 1
AthenaTT In reply to BullyJack [2012-02-07 09:02:00 +0000 UTC]
The only rules are you can't sell reproductions, and you have to state where you copied it from, that's it

BullyJack In reply to AthenaTT [2012-02-07 14:44:19 +0000 UTC]
So, if I took an image from a comic book, turned it into a stencil, and made a few variations, could I sell it?

AthenaTT In reply to BullyJack [2012-02-07 19:44:52 +0000 UTC]
Well, you could, if you want your pants sued off. Good luck to you on that

BullyJack In reply to AthenaTT [2012-02-08 15:10:46 +0000 UTC]
I think it's unlikely that I'd get sued for reproducing comic panels bigger. It's basically an outline thieving. But hey, most of my art gets put up illegally in public anyway.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Many an artist has been severely criticized, if not outright sued, by reproducing comic art and selling it as their own [link] everyone views it as copyright infringement

I do the whole street art thing. Plus I'm basically using just the pose. I think I'd rather get arrested for street art than sued though. I appreciate the knowledge though.

LOL I think you're totally fine with your street art; if you sell it one piece at a time, on the street, the odds of the comic book companies finding out are slim. Even if they did find out they'd probably just issue you a "cease and desist" order. The only time an artist really gets in trouble is if they copy something exactly then try to sell prints on line, or put it on a t-shirt, that kind of thing. So I bet you're okay

Hello I came by your page in a search for predator sketches and I was curious if you would mind if I turned this into a pumpkin carving for myself. I would gladly link the image back here to your original page if I posted it on a pumpkin forum, for example.

Of course you can use it!! Have fun! Oh, yes please send me a link to your pic if you decide to post, too, because I'd LOVE to see your punkie when he's done, too! Yeaay!
