Description When I made this
[link]

Someone commented me asking me to make this version...so here it is.

Just because someone is a conservative, does not mean they are a Republican/member of the Republican party.

I do not know what to say here since this was a request... I more resemble the stamp linked above ...

I'm a conservative and not a Republican, too! That's because the Republican party is bascially Democrat 2.0!

It's time to impeach 'em all!

AtheosEmanon In reply to MikeBennett1980 [2015-04-06 01:36:19 +0000 UTC]

I am of course neither a conservative or Republican..

I do not know about Democrat 2.0.. if so they would have raised the wage, increased infrastructure budget to the asks of the original budget, etc

.. I would just want people to know why it is they are voting for said person rather than .. oh I am voting for... because they are in this party

thanks for the fave

In the early 20th century/late 19th century there was a party caled Progressive, led by the ex-President Teddy Roosevelt. To sum up it's politics, it had the values of the Republican party, but the concern for people that the Democrats cultivate.

America is long overdue for a third party.. I believe that each party has something to offer but this right shift the Republicans find themselves in makes it highly unlikely that I could vote for them again anytime soon..

Thanks for the comment and the fave of "The Roosevelt's American Ideal"

I'm a conservative, but now I'm starting to distance myself from the Republican Party. My view on them can be described as this: talking like they agree with me while flipping me off.

AtheosEmanon In reply to Tohokari-Steel [2013-11-12 03:19:15 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for the fave, I am not a member of any political party, and am certainly more left leaning than conservative., I think in general, Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Green ... whatever party one can think of with major support I can find something in them all that I agree with... yet not enough to join the party

That is cool. More "Right Libertarian" like Ron Paul or "Left Libertarian" like Noam Chomsky.. then you have some who I think are middle of the road and seem to pull stuff from both sides like Penn Jillette

In any case, an American conservative who is not a Republican is most likely a supporter of the Constitutional Party or, if they are in it for the free markets only, the Libertarian Party.

AtheosEmanon In reply to tdwinnerfordinner [2013-08-15 20:43:00 +0000 UTC]

Most Independent Conservatives in America in general still votes majority for the Republican party, just as most Independent Liberals do tend to still vote for the Democratic Party. But yes, there is still a healthy number of Independent Conservatives who vote for Libertarian or Constitutional Party Candidates in local and national elections.

republicans do not have a conservative ideology, republicans are for the most part neocon's which shares more ideals and policies with authoritarian liberals then it does conservatvism.

I see on your page that you are 15... can I ask how are you a "die hard Republican" when you are not yet old enough to be a Republican /register to vote and join a political party?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

the3dgameboy97 In reply to AtheosEmanon [2013-04-16 22:28:07 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I see what you mean by that. And yes, I know that I'm too young to vote and too young to be part of a politicial party. When I said I was a die hard Republician, I meant that I strongly believed in the Republician party. And I know which side I believe in so when I am old enough to vote or go into politics, I know what side I am in.

AtheosEmanon In reply to the3dgameboy97 [2013-04-16 22:37:54 +0000 UTC]

Yes, thus the point of being a conservative and not a Republican as the person requested.

That is fine, everyone will forge their own path in life. For me, as far as ideology go; I am a liberal, progressive, democratic socialist - which can be summed up as a national conservative. Yet I never joined a party since there is no party that I agree with 100% or wish to join them - - for each party I agree with them on something. I agree with the sensible Republicans on guns [sensible in that they have no issue with back ground checks... ] and on most social issues I agree with democrats.. my favorite senator Bernie Sanders - is neither a Democrat nor Republican.

Much well wishes in your political future, be as active as possible.

I am neither a conservative, nor a Republican .When I did a stamp that said I am a liberal, but not a Democrat someone asked me to do this.

Conservative is a political ideology. Republican is a political party.

One can be a conservative.. and yet not wish to join a political party.

I agree with this because i have conservative beliefs but I won't JUST follow whatever the republican party is doing, I go by what the representative says and what he/she believes and what they will stand for, their political party regardless.

AtheosEmanon In reply to MageofDawn [2012-07-09 22:33:39 +0000 UTC]

I agree with you, as I stated above, and below, I am not a member of the Republican or Democrat part, I am a liberal, progressive and democratic socialist so I vote more in tune with Democrat party since they are more left leaning

.. gone are the days of the great Roosevelt ... I very much enjoy FDR Democrats and Teddy Roosevelt Republicans

Good stamp. Most Republicans are not what I would call conservatives. I have pretty much renounced any ties and any loyalty I had or have to the Republican Party.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AtheosEmanon In reply to Starlow-FTW [2012-06-04 14:41:41 +0000 UTC]

Well I am not a conservative [unless you count national conservatism] and am not a Republican, this stamp was done as a request after I did the Liberal, not Democrat stamp... but like you, I do not find the republicans to be like the Republicans I tend to enjoy such as Teddy Roosevelt, Eisenhower and even Goldwater on many subjects.

Thank you for the fave.

Can someone explain to me what a Republican is? I'm from Canada, where we only have Liberals, Conservatives, and New Democrats.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AtheosEmanon In reply to Dexter96 [2012-05-13 16:12:02 +0000 UTC]

Well in America, Republican is merely a political party, like Democrats, Independents... Libertarian is both a party and a political ideology...

In general, Republican does not really denote an ideology of the individual though in modern times the party is generally more neo-conservative overall than they have been in the past.

There is the wikipedia page for them.. I hope it helps some
