Description
This was not much of an email question, just more of an email recognition. I got an email from someone who looked at my previous influence map which can be found hereatheosemanon.deviantart.com/ar…
and said it was cool how I had people of different views.. so I decided to just add a few more people.. so I took about 10 mins going over it and decided to add a few more people.. as with the ones already on there..some liberal, some conservative, some libertarian.. some democrat, some republican, artists.. all of which I can point to and evoke some feeling of agreement in this or that and all of which which influence my views on a wide array of subjects - note just because they are here does not mean that I fully support their ideals or stated aims.. it simply means that there is something in the individual either in a generality of interest, aim, scope of a specific or particular idea etc that have influenced me in the generality of my views or on a particular subject matter.
the bottom 4 rows are those that have been added.. so from number 60-85
As with the previous one.. if you do not know who any of them are.. click here .. check the number over their picture and then look at this list

Copied from previous influence map done:
"Some of these people have made major impacts on my life, some I have had the pleasure of meeting in person, or at the very least seeing them speak at certain events around the United States and abroad. I have read literally hundreds of pages on each of the people mentioned above, for the most part I agree with them all. Though there are some things with some of them I also may not agree with on certain political, or social issues.
When looking at some other “Influence Maps” many of them did not have the reasons why they chose each individual person. I think looking at all of my past writings on what topics are passionate to me that it would be quite easy to see why I choose these individual people for my influence chart."

Can you link me to any sources of information or recommend books on Leon Trotsky and Lenin? Often I've hear Joseph Stalin, Leon Trotsky, and Vladimir Lenin painted in a generally negative perspective. While I know Stalin's reputation is deserved, I do not know much about Lenin or Trotsky.

Totsky has a booked, his autobiography called "My life" written in 1930 .. 10 years before Stalin had him killed,
If you mean books by Lenin himself?
"The State and Revolution" 1917
"Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism" 1917
What is to be done 1902
Left Wing communism an infantile disorder 1920
...and many more but there are also many books written about Lenin
Lenin himself wrote about a dozen books.. many can be found in pdf form simply by googling books on lenin
As far as "links" simply Ebay or Amazon their names in the "books" section and you will find Dozens on Trotsky but probably over 100 on Lenin
I shall leave the subjective "negative" and "positive" perspective to you... I have over a dozen books on Trotsky and my library has about 30 books on Lenin.. some by him, some in support of him and some very anti Lenin.. I personally like to read from all sides..
When I say "influence" I am speaking of there are things I liked about both, I probably would disagree with their world ideals or rather their societal wants... but such is life.

I might check out The Revolution Betrayed along with My Life for Trotsky.
Doesn't surprise me that Lenin would have so much book from him and about him. A very controversial figure that's both made famous and infamous. I'll be sure to look at other intellectual perspectives on Lenin and Trotsky
Well let me say that I think you've made chosen some very good influences among this list. Especially the Roosevelts', Eugene V. Debs, Robert La Follete(wish more governors were like him), and Thomas Paine, who is my favorite founding father along with Alexander Hamilton and James Madison.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Yeah, Lenin was much more well-known than Trotsky - and yes, he is a very controversial figure. Some things some may agree with him and others they may find detestable..
Yeah, it is always best to get opposing views on a person - - some people who like certain leaders tend to get only books that praise them but refuse to read any books that are overly critical of the person they respect ... it is hard to debate figures if you do not know the possible arguments one may use against them - - and as such you would ten be knowledgeable on both sides to be able to counter said arguments.
Paine is also my favorite founding father. enjoy the reads.. I am off for the night.

There can be little if any debate between the 2 of us Atheos, you're firmly indoctrinated in the Libs camp.
I'll not change your mind any more than you can change mine.
I do take comfort in knowing that my GOD will end the Libs reign of terror forever though.
The way you present Lib ideology is like a beer commercial, you only show the pleasant side, friends having fun while drinking. What you don't show is the effects of liberalism, much like an alcoholic who destroys his life with his drinking problem.

There's one problem with what you're saying; your god isn't real, therefore he won't end anything. And to answer your question to Atheos, assuming the whole "if you don't show up you lose" rule is in effect, then yes, we would beat him, because he isn't going to show up.

Oh, I'm a kool-aid drinker am I? Let me ask a simple question, can you site any secular, irrefutable evidence that validates any of the magical claims of the bible, yes or no?

Absolutely!
Why of course, but it's not like you'd actually listen to any evidence I'd present anyway.
Biblical Prophecy is being fulfilled as we speak. The Bloodmoons are but one example.

thesuperqueer In reply to zane1193 [2014-06-02 03:11:41 +0000 UTC]
That's not much of a "magical" claim, blood moons have been observed for thousands of years. There have been several in the past few centuries. And we know exactly why they happen. This is tantamount to someone claiming that the sun will rise after they've just claimed they can fly when no one is looking.
If it's irrefutable and secular evidence that validates a magical claim (like creditable historical documents outside of the bible that validate Jesus floating into the sky all on his own) I won't have anything to say. The problem is that you haven't given me that, all you've done is basically give yourself an excuse for why you can't and simultaneously proved something that isn't a magical claim. Maybe you should try again and prove something that hasn't been observed repeatedly and been easily explained by science (hence why it isn't magical). And please don't give me another "magical claim" that isn't the least bit magical, it just makes you seems silly and uneducated.

When something is true there should be unbiased, empirical, corroborating evidence for it. Do you know how much secular, scientific, irrefutable evidence I could bring up that confirms the claims Darwin made in The Origin of Species? I could find hundreds of pieces of evidence that confirm his claims. If I said the claims Ann Frank made in her diary were true and someone asked me to provide corroborating evidence that validates her claims of Jewish persecution, I could also do that. It'd be very easy. You however can't seem to find me EVEN ONE corroborating piece of reliable evidence that confirms the bible's magical claims of things like talking Donkeys and talking snakes. You just go to the same source that made the claim knowing that there is zero evidence that corroborates with it. It's like if someone believed the Spider-Man stories were true. Bottom line, you can't prove any of your beliefs the way I can, and not only that, but your actually arrogant enough to proclaims yourself my intellectual superior, when you admit you can't even prove your absurd beliefs with unbiased evidence. Fuck you, you narcissistic asshole. Your god isn't real, and your the "kool-aid" drinker for honestly thinking that you're smarter than any atheist you've ever debated when we can bring evidence to the table and you can't.

The old testament condemns many a things the cutting of facial hair, working on the sabbath was punishable by death, eating shell fish made one unclean and should be shunned.. wearing a garment of two different fabrics meant one should be kicked out of the tribe and so on... for many of those that believe in such texts, they have moved away from most of those things and for some reason, still focus on the gay sex part...

Some of those laws pertained to Jews only and others aren't supported in the new testament while some are.
However,JESUS did speak out against Homosexuality and it is in fact condemned in the new testament as well.
