Description
Just posting some old stuff-Mokoi, the Shadow Soul-
To the Aborigines of Arnhem Land in northern Australia, each person holds two spirits inside themselves, one good spirit, called a Birrimbir or Waro, and a bad one, called a Mokoi or Mokuy, the so called, "shadow soul". The Mokoi each person holds inside is thought to be the source of their negative aspects, and when someone dies, the Mokoi is left behind, and some care is taken to appease it or drive it away into the wilderness, as it tends to linger on the site of someone's death. They serve a purpose similar to that of a boogeyman, brutally punishing those who break rules and taboos, being known for their murderous tendencies. While roaming, a Mokoi is capable of haunting other people and causing disasters, misfortunes and so on. The flying fox is thought to be one of their symbols.

This one is quite old, dunno why I forgot to post it here.
A little evil spirit from down under. The design is almost entirely based on traditional depiction of mokoi. I liked them so much I knew I had to draw it in some way! [image ] [image ] [image ]
I'm pretty sure back when I drew this, the explanation for the skull in the design was because I had read somewhere that the Mokoi left a dead person's body through it's skull... But now I can't find that information anywhere, that's why I left it out of the description. Well, they still originate from the dead, so it hasn't lost all purpose in the design.
Well, this was quick. Hope you all liked it, and until next time!

Love it! Has a distinct "voodoo" vibe to it. And I love the way it's coming out of the skull considering its origin. Nice job!

I haven't heard of this "Mokoi" before. But I have to say, this is a pretty interesting depiction. I like the purple color scheme and I also like how you made its design all cartoony and wavy looking. Almost like something I'd see on an aboriginal cave painting. Shading and look is on point. Overall, I really like it. Favourited.

I LOVE YOUR VISION OF HIM ! Not only he is recognizable, and his origins are clear, but also you gave him a ghost Pokémon vibe (I'm thinking of Cofagrigus mostly) ! And not only the fact that he comes out of a skull is related to his lore, but it's also some kind of nod to the Crystall Skull Persona, while being different enough

I was a bit worried with the crystal skull similarities to be honest...
I used Acheri as a reference as well!
