Description
Once again, I've been approached by Late Knight Games some months ago for an opportunity to design some of the monsters for their game, a tabletop pokemon and D&D love child called Majimonsters. Specifically, for the new major expansion to the game, Shattered Empire. The expansion and the game were funded on Kickstarter, and is already available to backers, with a standard release to follow pretty soon, or so I've heard. With their blessing, I'll be posting some of the monsters available in the game which were designed by yours truly, hope you guys like them!

"A monkey-like monster that resembles a pygmy marmoset with a fur colored like the seas, a large spiky shell on it's back, and a twisted tail that resembles a dragon's head. It's based around the famous Admiral Yi from Korean history, with a beard to match. It's known for it's ability to shift the tides, being able to use this to outmaneuever faster opponents. In combat, it has been seen creating walls of water/stone to defend it's allies, and creating zones that bring their allies power and vitality. It specializes in controlling areas and empowering it's allies so they can defeat enemies, but make no mistake, the spiked monkey has no qualms in taking the damage role for itself."

This one and Octopunch were actually created by backers from a certain tier in the Kickstarter campaign, and I really hope they are satisfied with the results... No pressure at all, right? As mentioned, Sea Monkyi is based around the legend of Admiral Yi and the turtle ships from korean lore. Being familiar with his story didn't make this one any easier to design though, it was actually one of the trickiest. Mixed feelings on the result myself, but I just hope the backer is satisfied with the design.

I've personally haven't played any of the expansions or the base game, but working with Late Knight Games was really nice, and I'm still open to working again in the future, so I hope there aren't the last ones you'll see.
