Usually seen in the middle of the open sea, they can control the waves with their dancing. Tales tell the story of a fishing village who disrespected the local water life and were punished by a Orishell with storms and starvation. To appease the pokémon, they sent small boats filled with gifts into the sea while singing with praise. Soon the sea returned to normal, and to this day this practice is repeated annually as a festival in hopes of a bountiful catch.

Same as Buziana, this one was inspired by the brazilian "Baianas" and the practice of Cowrie-shell divination , but also "Mãe-de-Santo " and the Yoruba goddess Yemoja/Iemanjá (which I also have already illustrated in the past if you want to check that out: here ). A whole lot of inspirations for this one!
The history of the Tupama region involves the gathering of many different people from many regions, and many pokemon were brought along from afar for the trip. These pokemon represents the different cultures that make the region, with Buziana and Orishell being the first of those I've done, and represents African culture (Yoruba, Bantu, etc) brought by the slaves during brazilian history. Some other fakemons based around other cultures are going to appear eventually!
I'm a bit worried now because Cappiecake's evolution was going to look somewhat similar to what I've done with Orishell here, but oh well, that only forces me to have to be more creative with designs in the future, I guess...
Well, hope you all liked it, and see you guys next time!

If you want to tackle the same themes and ideas as mine, you're free to do so!
...But I would ask for you to avoid a lot of visual similarities and from lifting design details straight up from mine though... Don't use their design as a base, just the ideas and the inspirations behind it

Feliz que tenha gostado!
Eu já tinha visto um fakemon ou outro baseado em baianas, mas nenhum deles tinha se focado na coisa do mar ou do candomblé, então parti pro abraço! XD
O quê que a baiana tem~
