I hate to be the bearer of bad news man but the original Scat XXVII was indeed an F-4E however, this is a redressed F-4N. Col. Olds real plane is sitting in Wright Pat Air Force Museum. This one was created for Air shows.

This is not an F-4N. This is a QF-4E. I'm well aware this is not Col. Olds' aircraft, and nobody here said that it was. The USAF F-4 demo team flies QF-4Es that are destined to become missile fodder. This airplane is probably lying at the bottom of the ocean somewhere off the coast of Florida right now.
But it definitely was never in the Naval inventory. This airframe started life with the USAF, and ended it with the USAF.
Check facts before making assertions.

Oh yeah! Smoke and Thunder Hog! Sweet photo. I was fortunate enough to be a bomb loader on the F-4D and E models.
