Description
ARKHAM FILESINMATE NAME: Dr. Victor Fries
ALIAS: Mr. Freeze
I truly feel sorry for this man. He didn't ask for this. All he wanted was to save his wife from her terminal illness. He's a genius, a bigwig in the cryogenics field. He developed a process to freeze his wife until a cure could be found for her disease. A very noble concept. His only mistake was stealing money from his employer and working behind his back. A fight broke out, chemicals were spilled, and a life was ruined. His body was mutated to the point where he cannot survive out of a subzero environment. Wearing a specialized containment suit, Freeze has committed many crimes, all of which were to aid in his wife's recovery. But for his cold (no pun intended) ruthlessness, a man like Fries really shouldn't be in an asylum, he should be in Blackgate prison. But his emotionally dead personality is very unsettling during our sessions. It is my professional opinion that, given extensive time and therapy, and once a cure to his condition has been found, Dr. Fries could one day be rehabilitated into society.
PROGNOSIS: POTENTIALLY CURABLE

I failed you. I wish there were another way for me to say it. I cannot. I can only beg your forgiveness, and pray you hear me somehow, someplace... someplace where a warm hand waits for mine.

I will say, though, I do feel sorry for Mr. Freeze, Two-Face, and Clayface (from BTAS). They were good people turned horribley wrong...

Yeah, some of the best villains started out as good people. That's why they're such great tragic characters.

I didn't really care for the Basil Karlo/Clayface story, though...he's just what is expected of Clayface: an ammoral, shape-shifting killer! With the Matt Hagen/Clayface storyline, it gave him a degree of humanity that, at one point, he wanted to have restored.

You make such incredibly true statements in these Arkham Files you did...

Batman Arkham Asylum is absolutely da' BOMB!
It will be interesting how you interpret the likes of the Joker, Harley Quinn or even other Batman villains.
I dunno...does the Penguin (Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot) count as an Arkham inmate or not?

Atomic-Chinchilla In reply to John-the-Enforcer [2009-11-11 06:28:06 +0000 UTC]
I'm only doing the actual Arkham inmates. Non-crazies like Catwoman and Pengy will most likely be excluded. Although, since there were Blackgate prisoners in Arkham in the game, mebbe that would work for these guys.

Aaaah, okay. ^^
I was confused if Penguin would belong amongst Batman's usual rogues gallery of total nutjobs in Arkham.
