Roger Ramjet, he's our manHero of our nation

Roger Ramjet is probably one of my favourite cartoons from the 60s, I recall seeing it first in the 80s when I was little and my mom remarking that she used to watch it when it first came out.
I gave him Powdered Toast Man's "Leave everything to me" stance
(Oddly enough, Roger and Powdered Toast Man share the same voice actor, the incredible Gary Owens).

I remember that...the theme song is set to the tune of "Yankee Doodle Dandy".

I THINK that the first verse went SOMETHING like this:
"Roger Ramjet and his Eagles,
"Fighting for our freedom.
"Trying to win in outer space --
"Not to join 'em but to beat 'em!"
Then you went into the refrain "Roger Ramjet, he's our man ..."
I also recall that the general in the series would always stand behind Roger's jet exhaust in sending him off -- and getting blasted every time.
Not to mention that there was always a bird nesting in the exhaust ...

Cool! I think I got him mixed up with Tom Slick and Tom of T.H.U.M.B when I was watching some old Betamax recordings. Nice mention of Gary Owens who was also the voice of the original Space Ghost and also performed in Mighty Orbots as Ron Du.

One criticism, it's too professional looking, the series was NEVER that well drawn hahahahahaha (just kidding)
Oh and while we are on the subject of cartoon voice actors, why has nobody mentioned Mel Blanc? Another iconic cartoon voice actor who did (among others ) Ratchet in the original Transformer was good old Scatman Crothers, a very iconic voice.

I started to ask you to submit it as a print and then I remembered. It's SOOO annoying that fan art can't be prints. I would buy a mug with this on it and quite possibly a poster too. Sigh. I want a mug with my cybernetic hero painting but it's fan art so no go.

Thank you, It just arrived. I am soo excited!! It might not be done until after xmas now as I am not sure I can afford fresh cardtridges for my printer on top of everything (it takes a sepparate cartridge for each of the 4 process colours *sigh*). Let me know if there is something I can do in return.

Well, the file openned without any problems. I zoomed RIGHT in and I was astonished at how close I had to go in order to see the pixcels. Maybe my files are too small. Anyway, it would have made a great mug DAMMIT

I usually work at is at a high resolution, this one I think started out as being 10" by 10" at 300 dpi. Because I'm mad, bwah heh heh!
