Description Remember when I said this could take a while, Kota? I’m a man of my word.

This is a little logging engine designed by Kota in Lego form— he asked me to draw it as a real-life engine. Which I’ve tried to do! (In my own weird style, of course...)

I did take some minor artistic liberties with the paint scheme, but I didn’t think you’d mind too much. (It was just begging for a number stenciled on the side...) Most of this is as literal a translation of your engine as I could make it! (I went with a rather European style, I think...)

Hope you approve.

Actually, I'd say it has a rather "Spegetti Western" kinda look!

You know, Like how Hollywood will "Dress" an engine to look period appropriate. And honestly, I'm tempted to make a model of theis engine! Albeit it would be more American it terms of pilots and couplings.

Hehehehe, perhaps so! If you want to make a model, though, be sure to ask first, because he designed the original.

Atticus-W In reply to PaxAeternum [2009-09-08 21:04:52 +0000 UTC]

Ha, and I thought I was drawing something that wouldn't work! (I decided to add an outside valve gear very last minute and needed something simple, so I based it roughly on something I think I've seen on a British engine.) I have no idea how it would work without an eccentric. XD

Anyway, thanks!

oh yeah, crosshead driven overcranks work, they are just awkward and not very efficient.
