Description
This is a brief two page narrative for my department's "Meanwhile" comic. I have never done a sequential piece before, so I am proud that I pulled something off.Related content

The troll's expression in the upper right hand corner really gets to me. He looks so frightened and sad like he's thinking 'What? I just wanted to play!' Great job. Love the tones and the painterly style.

Very well executed. I don't completely get the ending though, why they all of a sudden get friendly. That said it still very well portray that they get friends

Thank you! They see themselves in the other's eyes, and realize they both are being monsters.

Is this supposed to be referencing How to Train Your Dragon? It felt a lot like it: "When I looked into his eyes, he was just as frightened as I was."
Love the coloring and how it explores the mood of the character, by the way. Gorgeous art.

I don't get it, she is running away, she has a gun, the troll is chasing her, she catches him off guard, they look in each other's eyes as the troll submits, then they hold hands and go chill o_o

It has to do with cultural programming, most of us would attack anything out of fear but interactions can and should be more complex. This story is clearly working on a symbolic level.
I can offer you my interpretation. The troll and the girl are acting out like they normally do but then they recognize each other. That changes they're relationship. The troll behaves more animal like, that's why he approaches in distrust (not submission).
The message (to me) is if we can recognize we are sentient being we can have a relationship based on love and not fear.

well said, good friend, but Fear is the emotion towards the unknown, and a relation thus cannot be built upon fear itself ... I said in a reply to some other fellow that the final interaction gives the feeling that this troll might be a guardian or a beautiful memory she had and finally met again

Hmm, I don't agree on your definition of fear. I feel fear is the main emotion driving people nowadays. I would say most of us don't dare to face our own shadow self, hence the society we have nowadays. Luckily, I believe this has been changing and will keep changing (dramatically). But I don't won't to get too esoteric here.Cheers mate

Hmm Well, it's nothing too deep. Just thoughts on the hunter and the hunted, exploring character design/interaction. It's okay if you don't like it, It was my first attempt at something like this so I don't expect it to be earth shatteringly epic
But at least the panels read!

but then how open she were at the end o_o from a mature woman to acting like a child ... maybe the "troll" is actually a guardian from her childhood
