Okay, not really. Just a really quick doodle I did in mythology of Iben in his nonanthro form. I drew his cheekscar wrong because I am an ass. Anyway, didn't think it came out too bad for being done with no reference and whatnot so I colored it with a similar speediness in Photoshop.And now, for comparison I offer you the same character in a similar position drawn three years ago: [link]

My favorite part is the base of the horns, love those little ridges.
There aren't enough of these "gemsbok" characters around. In fact, this is the first one I've ever seen. They have such an awesome coat and horns and they ought to be more popular!!!!11
I'm stupid, so clarify something for me... from the thumb I was sure this would be an oryx, then I read your desc and the word "gemsbok" was inserted into my vocabulary. Do oryx = gemsbok or are they a subspecies or...??

Yes, gemsbok are a subspecies of oryx, they're also known as South African Oryxes. There are also Beisas, Arabian Oryxes, and a few others that bear the name "oryx", so I like to clarify

Not really, no. Gemsboks are very shorthaired animals, hence why you can't see any definitive furline on Iben. So any scars he received would show up pretty damned well. Of course, I also emphasize them a bit more for the sake of aesthetics, but you have to take most of my art with a little suspended disbelief

Ah, okay, he looks sort of gazelle-ish, they've got horse-length hair as near as I can tell (thoutgh I don't know for sure) so I assumed he had a similar length. My sister used to take horse-back riding lessons (I did too for awhile) and there was a stallion at the barn for awhile who fought a lot. Anyway, I do see what you mean though and I like the picture a lot. As an aside: The scars on his cheek remind me of Kenshin ^_^ hee hee hee.
