Description I say medieval-type, because it's just supposed to invoke a sense of the medieval era. I didn't do extensive research on ancient garb for feet (though I did browse through hundreds of pictures on google) but I did want it to seem like it came from a time similar to the dark ages.

I've recently been steeping myself in plans for my outfit for Comic Con. It's one of my own character's outfits. Shoes are something I almost despise when drawing. I can get away with simple blobs in most cases, but when I'm designing an outfit that I'm then going to make, it helps to have something a little more detailed than a foot-shaped smear of color. Rather than designing any I decided to use this tutorial (fav.me/d1pmwaq) only to discover I didn't quite have enough fabric for it. So I sat down and just decided to go at it, no tutorials, no plans. I'd looked at enough pictures, I understood how shoes worked (mostly) and so I decided to document the process and, if all went well, turn it in to my own tutorial (because there is a serious lack of shoes from scratch tutorials here on DA). I'd still like to make the Poulaines found in the other tutorial someday, however. They look really cool.

One last thing. I know I mentioned it twice in the tutorial already, but I really would love to know what you guys think and how your own shoes turn out. I will favorite whatever you guys make with this and put links to it here in the description so everyone else can see what you've done, too. I also love comments, anything that will help me do better. And if you do use it, if you wouldn't mind just linking back here I would truly appreciate it.

Edit: Hey, I made some huge mistakes while doing these shoes, so be sure to read both tutorials I made about how to make these - here's the second part: fav.me/d6jdms4

You're welcome, and thanks for faving!  Oh, and just so you know, I actually made quite a few modifications to these shoes, so it might be more helpful if you read both my tutorials.  Here's the second one: fav.me/d6jdms4   And I'd love to see what you do with this tutorial!

Ahh!  You and your fabric bending skills!  You need to teach me sometime.  While I teach camille about drawing humans.  While she teaches us both about drawing animals.

I so wish I could go to SLCC!  I was going to go, but then I decided that $50 wasn't worth only being there for two hours. Now where am I going to wear my mistborn costume?

Yes, we must.  Camille has the most awesome powers when it comes to animal drawing.

You could always just get a one day pass.  I'm only going on Friday and it's $25.  The world needs to see this Mistborn costume, or at the very least, I need to see it.  Is it finished, yet?

I have marching band cleaning camp thursday, friday, and saturday until five, and the tickets for only saturday are sold out, so yeah.

And by finished you mean "haven't even started yet?"  Then yes.

Actually, I do believe they put up more Saturday only tickets.  But cleaning camp, that's a bummer.  Well, as soon as your mistborn costume is finished, I would very much like to see.
