Description Meet Lee; my illustrated alter-ego, I guess is what you could call her. Recently, I've been sort of working on a just-for-fun comic. I don't know if I'll ever post it, as it's just-for-fun and I'm making it almost purely because I wanted a comic to work on where I don't have to do excessive planning or work very hard to make it look good. I just wanted something that I could work on whenever I felt the desire to, without having to worry about how straight the panels are or how corny the dialogue is or how unbelievable the characters are. Like I said: just-for-fun. I probably won't post it also for the reason that I'm somewhat basing it off my own life and, I don't know, it's kind of like a secret diary that way. So sorry, you'll probably just get random pictures like this every now and then. I will tell you the premise, though, as I really like the sound of what I wrote down really late at night as the idea for this was formulating in my mind: "A somewhat steampunk version of myself escapes her Big Brother-ish high school and travels the world meeting new friends and having many adventures whilst accompanied by a Canadian goose."

It's really not steampunk, though, as much as it is space-age science-fiction-y.

Anyways, I drew this during school today and was actually incredibly pleased with how it turned out. I do believe Lee has stolen a Blaster during her escape route and is now fiercely engaged in a deadly shootout in her school cafeteria. (Don't worry, she makes it out alive by hiding in the garbage cans . . . I think).

Also, she's pretty much based off the girl drawn in my failure of a Painting assignment (the one with ink on acrylics) if anyone remembers that.

Very impressive! I like how you drew the graze, and the bullet trajectories!

Wow your work is so clean and smooth! Β I love the shading and the way you drew the bullet propulsion lines..."whoosh" comes to mind lol. Β I also like the added touch of the nick on her cheek...close call indeed!

Oh my goodness, thank you so much! Β I have to admit, I may have had a minor spasm attack when I saw you had started watching me. Β Now I feel a little pressured to only post stuff that's at least as good as this picture, haha. Β

Shading is something I constantly struggle with. Β I can handle it in stark lighting like this, but when I have to figure out different levels of shading and things that are more detailed I generally throw my pencil at it and run away.

I was thinking the bullets made more of a "zworp" noise . . . perhaps "zwoosh"? Β I definitely feel like there's a 'z' in there somewhere.

Lol, don't feel pressured, i think you should just upload everything! Β I upload junk all the time, then move it to scraps...in shame lol, or sometimes, in wild artistic tantrums I just delete it without even giving it a warning XD

I think you did a great job with the stark lighting, I like how bod and clean it is, but I know what you mean! My lighting is actually everywhere, which is very wrong, but honestly I think if you're happy with the way something looks then it doesn't matter if it doesn't conform to the laws of nature!

Lol "zwing" too...for when they ricochet off something metal!

Yeah, I considered putting a mature filter on for blood and gore, but I didn't really think it was that necessary. I don't really know why, but I really enjoy drawing people in mortal danger - they always make it out, but their situation is perilous nonetheless.

Also, when you say that you are drawing it "just for fun", that is the very best and most valid reason to draw anything ever.

I totally agree! Now if only I could draw-for-fun-for-money as well. Hehe, I'm sure there are some people out there who probably get to do both, though.

Sounds like a cool idea. You COULD have posted it without saying that it was a diary type thing and no-one would have known the better. I wish I could see all of it, though. Oh, well.

I might post a majority of it, maybe. It depends on how much I actually base off my life and what exactly I put into it, I suppose.

I wanna see it! Most of my comics are based off of real life anyway, but yours sounds cooler!B)

I don't have all that much of it, yet. But when I get further, I'll consider posting it.
