This is my first tutorial! Be nice ^__^ And don't forget - I'm not a native English speaker, so it's probably have many mistakes. Still hope it'll be useful!Any questions, corrections and advices are accepted.

Векторные слои хороши тем, что линии там автоматически выравниваются ^__^

That's strange... Which version do you have? There should be pen on both vector and usual layers.

what are the size, density and other stuff of the Pen tool when you're about to trace?

Density is 100%. Size - it depends of size of your scan (mines usually are not so big, so I use 1 pt or smaller). Other tips - I suggest to use Sguare or Shapr edge shape, and if you want more clear lines don't do min size too small.

Yep, I used tablet! Coloring using mouse is simple, I used mouse for coloring many years before I gained tablet. With some patience it can be pretty good. But you can't do good lines with mouse. Just do a good lineart - I saw your gallery, your art is very, very nice, but you need to trace it with ink or gel pen, if you want to color it in Photoshop or SAI. Probably I'll a mouse tutorial later ^__^

Wonderful tutorial! I'll have to look into the SAI program to see if it would be useful to me...
One thing I've noticed about your couple portraits: The primary art alone is absolutely gorgeous. But your backgrounds, although well done, can be almost distracting at times, fighting with the central piece for dominance of the picture. That might be something to improve on in the future.
