Aannndd here's my final portfolio piece!

Yep. I completed this about a month and a half ago, but haven't gotten around to posting it like I have with the other two in this series, 'abhorrent flight', , and 'free spirits', .

Anywaayyy, you guys seriously have no idea how much I rushed this work. I did this in two days right before the deadline at a million miles an hour. Feel free to ignore the sadly painted rock ledge my litte guy is perched on...

The overall, the background was pretty much speed-painted, and I spent most of my energy making sure the dragon looked decent. My favourite part would have to be the muscles. But the anatomy isn't perfect [and the foreshortening probably doesn't quite fit the background, either], but under the extreme pressure, I'm really happy with how this came out!

As for conceptual stuff...well, basically testing his wings and is about to take his first flight off the ledge he's on. It's all about the anticipation and excitement before flight. :'D

Anyway, I really hope to keep pushing myself with lineless painting as the months go by, but we'll just have to see, especially since I go back to college in a week...

Of course, I'm sure I can squish in painting somewhere as assessment work. Maybe.
