Description
If you'll pardon the pun, there are two schools of thought concerning the Greater Great White Shark (which ranged from the Middle Miocene to the end of the Pliocene), in that, one group of experts consider it to have been a relative of the sand tiger sharks (Otodus sp), while others consider it to be an upscaled version of the Great White (C. carcharias)....
Off the coast of Miocene California, C. megalodon contemplates mouthing a pair of primitive walrus, Imagotaria downsi.

So, what are YOUR thoughts? Do you feel that it was a White shark, or a Sandtiger?

So that's the megalodon? The one that was insanely huge and may have fed on whales?

Ah, the terror of Miocene Seas. If such a critter was still alive today, all thought of swimming would have vanished instantly...I think it would be the same if Dunkleostus was alive as well...or any very large sea-going predators...I can also go on and on on the very large terrestrial predators, but it's late and I'm about to hallucinate...I think I already am...heh.
