I started re-reading the Fullmetal Alchemist manga and a sudden urge to practice expressions came over me! Now, drawing expressions is my favourite thing already so I happily gave in to that urge, ahaha! Zosimos is quickly becoming one of my favourite characters, despite the fact that I still have not completely decided on his back markings or backstory. He used to be a rather stoic guy too, but I guess that has changed a bit. Still very proud and somewhat arrogant though, but underneath it all he is pretty nice. Not a villain at all, just lacking some more subtle social skills. Zosimos uses his mohawk and eyes to express himself most, the ears are not very flexible but can move a bit (more like, up and down haha, like what rats do. He cannot fold them backwards like cats can, for example). His mouth is rather expressive too! Yeah, raised mohawk signifies increased adrenaline, seen in emotions such as anger, excitement, pride, and happiness, for example. A (somewhat) flattened mohawk signals emotions such as pain, fear, resentment, and exhaustion, for example. The raised mohawk is often accompanied by enlarged pupils (the pupils work pretty much the same way as those of a cat do). The eyebrow markings increase Zosimos' expressiveness haha. And there's a little doodle of what Zosimos' head may look like without fur.

I sketched all these in my sketchbook with pencils, then scanned them in, cleaned them up, and gave them colour! I already liked them when they were just sketches, but the colour really does make a difference! I just love his colours anyway

So, which one is your favourite? I have a weak spot for the "wtf?!' one in the top row ahaha, that one was just too much fun to draw!
