Description

In the year 75010 BC, the First Civilization thrived at the peak of their technological advances. They created the human race as their workforce, using technologies such as the ‘Apples of Eden’ to control their slaves. The First Civilization had built several cities for breeding humans and putting them to use. One such city was called Eden. The Precursors employed some of their angels, members of their race's military with mechanical wing suits, to guard this city. However, one such angel, named Lucifer, had an arrogance and an ego that drove him to resent all of the planet's lifeforms, including his own race. He constantly devised several plans for world destruction, but was never able to carry them out. He finally got his chance when two new humans arrived.

Two human/precursor hybrids were born named Adam and Eve. They lived just as the other humans did (laboring the day away) but their precursor DNA prevented them from being affected by the Apple's mind controlling powers. Lucifer, with the help of a few rebellious angels, managed to sneak past the angel, Gadreel, and into the humans’ workplace with an Apple of Eden. He confronted Eve, and offered her the Apple and its knowledge. Eve took the Apple, and from it she gained the comprehension of the unfairness that the Precursors placed on her species. She shared this revelation with her husband, Adam, and the two made their escape. They managed to escape Eden, though they had to fight past Gadreel first, and went into hiding. They realized that there would be no turning back.

They used the Apple to liberate hundreds of their fellow humans, setting them free from the chains that the Precursors put them in. This would soon lead to a global rebellion, which would soon become an all out war. It was humans vs. Precursors. The humans used their stolen tech to arm themselves against the ‘gods’. Several Precursors and hybrids, such as Prometheus, Hercules, and Gabriel, joined the humans in their fight, believing that they did indeed deserve their freedom.

Adam and Eve became the most skilled fighters and strategizers out of all the rebels. They developed a new philosophy, one that advocated freedom, equality, and the peace that came with those things. It eventually reached a point when they and their followers formed an order, a brotherhood, one dedicated to this new creed, to the idea that “Nothing is true and everything is permitted.” They picked Eve to be their first leader, their first mentor. And so she led them. She came up with a name for this new group, this brotherhood of freedom fighters. From that point on, they were called the Assassins.

Eve and the Assassins continued to fight the war against the Precursors, killing their most powerful members. Eve eventually learned of Lucifer’s true goals, and why he gave her the Apple in the first place. He knew a war would start. And he knew that it would give him the opportunity to destroy the world and its inhabitants, no matter what side they were on. The humans and Precursors had a common enemy in this rogue angel, this traitorous snake. Eve eventually was forced to team up with Michael, an angel who was the Precursors’ greatest warrior, to finally put down Lucifer once and for all.

After that, both sides continued fighting. Thousands upon thousands died on both sides of the war. The conflict only stopped when a terrible solar flare erupted and hit the Earth, causing what was essentially the apocalypse. Only a few thousand humans survived what would be called the Toba Catastrophe, and only a few hundred Precursors survived. Among these were Adam and Eve, who met up with the surviving Precursors. They finally agreed to make peace, and to rebuild the Earth together. The Precursors died off eventually, though, leaving the humans to inherit the planet. Eve, Adam, and the Assassins helped humanity find its peace in freedom, equality, and the Assassin's Creed.
