Description Name: Aquila
Born: March 15, 27 BC; Rome, Roman Empire
Died: January 16, 72; Rome, Roman Empire (age 98)
Allegiance: Assassins

Bio: Aquila was the first and only daughter of Avis Aquilus Liberator, a well-respected nobleman and an ex-senator of the Roman Republic before the death of Julius Caesar.  She lived the high life of nobility, with the finest clothes and the utmost comforts.  Unlike most Roman families however, her father took it upon himself to raise her and educate her in things like philosophy and self-defense.  Not that she minded, of course.  Growing up, she just assumed she was a lucky girl.

Her luck would run out in 10 BC, when a group of armed soldiers came into her home and arrested her father.  Scared and confused, she ran away and hid with her mother until later that night.  She snuck into the prison in which her father was being held, and he explained to her that there was a major conspiracy afoot.  He told her that he wasn't all he appeared to be, that he was a member of an ancient Brotherhood called the Liberalis Circulum (known today as the Assassins) and that in 45 BC, he was one of the senators that helped assassinate Julius Caesar, as the consul had many ties to the Liberalis Circulum’s mortal enemies, the Order of Ancients (known today as the Templars).  He told Aquila that she needed to escape and find his robes and weapons, and to seek out the Brotherhood’s hideout.  She begged him to let her help, but he insisted that there was no time, that his life meant nothing compared to the liberty of the Roman people.  Aquila, eyes full of tears, rushed back home and did as her father asked.  Her father was executed the following morning.

Aquila, now clad in her father's robes and armed with his blades, searched all throughout Rome for a symbol that matched that of the Liberalis Circulum.  She eventually found it after stumbling into a series of catacombs that landed her in the ancient Temple of Juno, where the Liberalis Circulum made their hideout.  They took her in, explaining that their influence over Rome had been greatly diminished after the deaths of Marcus Junius Brutus and Gaius Cassius Longinus.  The Order of Ancients now had a firm grip on the Roman Empire, as they used Emperor Augustus as their puppet for control.  Aquila swore to avenge her father and continue his work by bringing liberty to Rome.  After decades of eliminating the Order’s top dogs throughout not just Rome but the Empire itself, she eventually assassinated Augustus in 14.

As the years went on, Aquila rose through the Liberalis Circulum’s ranks, eventually earning her the title of Mentor in her older years.  In 37, a mad agent of the Order by the name of Caligula became emperor of Rome.  An oppressive leader with many screws loose, the Liberalis Circulum knew they had to put an end to him, which they did in 41 when Aquila and her student, Leonius, ambushed the emperor with their allies and stabbed him until he died.  After him came his successor Claudius, and after his death in 54 came another tyrant: Nero, another member of the Order.  Aquila led her allies against his plots throughout his reign, such as when they tried to evacuate the city during the Great Fire in 64.  They eventually claimed Nero's life in 68.

Aquila eventually passed away peacefully of old age in the year 72, just as construction of the Colosseum had begun under Emperor Vespasian.

She is an ancestor of Ava Arlie.
