My folks got me a PS4 and Assassin's Creed: Unity for Christmas! And I'm absolutely in love with this game! Not only is is fun and full of amazing characters with amazing stories, but it's drop dead gorgeous! From beautiful Versailles to poor ruined Paris, I just can't take my eyes off of the screen! The lighting, the details, the graphics, aaahahhaaah! The artist side of me just squees every time I look at it!
But yeah, I went ahead and drew some more Arno fanart. Because he's awesome.

I will say this in defense of Unity. (Ducks from oncoming hate.)
The larger issue aside from the horrible bugs and glitches. (OH GODS IT WAS SO BAD.) is the fact the Freach Revelation was an long, drawn out event spanning years, with all kinds of factions and governments rising and falling. One game was never going to get it right.
A series of Unity style games in and around the Freach Revelation could have done things far better.

My copy never had any glitches so I can't really speak to that aspect but I admit some of the French Revolution stuff did seem kinda clunky, though I feel for different reasons. They only highlighted a few major events in the main story while others got shoved aside into side missions or brief mentionings. A lot of the targets and their goals are just kinda made up and they just happened to take place at the same time as these events instead of being connected to them. The game seems to kinda take the stance that you already know everything about the time period, as opposed to the games before it where it actively uses the story to teach you history.
