Description
Piercing gaze, stern static look, but she still has to comb her hair. Is it vanity? Perhaps, but sometimes itβs just nice to look good. Iβm sure she does not appreciate what she has and when she is a little older she will probably go to one of the big cities where people put so much emphasis on image that they drive themselves mad. I wonder if she will think back to the simpler time when combing her hair was something she just did because she had to rather then vanity.Yashica GSN, 45mm f1.7 Yashinon lens, Ilford XP2 shot at 320.

great shot, seems strange vanity is a deadly sin when surely its just an appreciation of gods work?

I like this version more, just because the brush is actually in the prosses of combing her hair.
Such a beauitful child. I hope she sees how the simple pleasures in life many people take for granted (especially in the large or modern cities).

"when combing her hair was something she just did because she had to rather then vanity." .. Yes! Exactly what I got out of this ... as the mother of two girls I felt this child is simply doing what she was told. And the sadness in her eyes ... maybe the telling to wasn't so ... nice? One never knows but this is a beautiful capture nonetheless.

I can't say which one I like the best of the two since both are excellent, but I think it might be this one because the larger view. One may wonder what she think of getting her photo taken at that moment, but her expression reveals no clue!

ya know, a lot of people like this one better and technically is it a better photo but I like the other one better, maybe because I was there and knew exactly what was going on, maybe because the other photo is more mysterious and this one is more....conventional.

I guess, the other one have a pretty unusual (to me) position of her hand to brush her hair, Both are nice, I guess it must be me being conventional

black and white really is where its at for me, I shoot a lot of color but I find the photos always to be....substandard for my purposes. Color can be distracting but black and white lets you go past that strange red thing in the frame that sticks out and draws our eye all over the place to just focus on exactly what needs to be shown. It doesnt hurt to have the description either though, im a very...opinionated person, so I like to blaber about what im thinking about and what not, as you can see from this long comment which im gona stop on now.
