WIP of an art trade I am currently working on for *Soul-of-the-wolf of their dragon-wolf character, Kai. I am posting this because it seems that everyone would like to see the WIPs that I bother to take the time to scan. I like the lines on this one so I decided they are worth having a copy of.This will be colored tonight and the completed version will most likely be up in the morning. Going to color with copic markers - I got a new set today and can't wait to use them c:

I am almost done coloring, I only had a certain number of blues though so he is quite vibrant in the marker colors - almost like a neon blue O_o;
Although I believe the scanner will dull it a bit.
. . . Oh noes. . not the bells again! <.<;

I will have it posted by tomorrow, it's already almost 2am here and I can't go downstairs any more for the night D:

I draw the sketch and clean up the lines using your average mechanical pencil and then go over everything using two to three different sized inking pens. For this piece, I used copic inking pens because they are bleed-proof and great for use when I am working with the markers later on for color

Oh okay. I've been trying different things to make my drawings look bolder, pens, black colored pencils, etc. I haven't been very satisfied with them though. I'll try looking for copic inking pens or something similar. Thank you for the helpful information! :3

Yes, inking pens are great, I use copic's pens when I want to color with markers, otherwise prismacolor or faber-castell also work fine and are slightly less expensive (I believe a pack of copic inking pens is almost 30 dollars. . Their stuff is great but way pricy!

I have a few of my sketches in scraps.. . But I really don't sketch super much unless I am at school and getting way bored. . ^^
But yes, I will post some of my sketches that I do for concepts and such for my art class this year - I am going to focus on biological structure, so I will probably be drawing lots of anatomy! I got a veterinary anatomy textbook for reference c:
