Description DISCLAIMER: Some of the following creepypastas contain sensitive materials such as suicide, violence, child and domestic abuse, rape, mental illness depictions, etc. Reader discretion is advised.

Note: Please do not harass the original author or anyone who makes content related to this pasta. This review was simply made for entertainment purposes only. This is all based on MY OPINION as well.

WELCOME BACK TO SAUCEZ REVIEWZ: POKEPASTAS- Wait, no... we're not covering Pokémon Creepypastas today. Instead, we're going to cover creepypastas in general.

Rules:

-This is all based on my opinions. It’s okay if you agree or disagree with my list.

-I have to have read the pasta before, so there might be tons of pastas missing from this list and it’s most likely because I haven’t read the pasta before. Let me know if there were some pastas you would suggest.

-I would like to make this list a little more unique and not seem like every other best pasta list out there with having the same or similar entries. There might be a couple that a lot of people have put on theirs and it was still listed on mine, and it was probably because I wasn’t aware of their lists at the time, or I like that pasta too much to not make it just make it an honorable mention. The rest of the entries that I agree with will be placed in honorable mentions. So popular pastas like BEN Drowned, Russian Sleep Experiment, 1999, Psychosis, Candle Cove, The Smiling Man, NES Godzilla, smiledog.jpg, etc. would go in honorable mentions.

-I’m also going to specifically exclude any experiment creepypastas from the main list: it’s not that I hate those types of pastas, it’s that I’m a huge sucker for those types of pastas as they usually turn out to be some of the best pastas because of their realistic approaches. If I included experiment creepypastas, then the main list would be almost filled with them.

-Another note is I will be counting NoSleep stories and urban legends as creepypastas. Creepypastas are horror stories shared around the internet. NoSleep stories are also horror stories shared around the internet and Urban Legends are shared around in general, especially on the internet. In my opinion, they should count as creepypastas. I know that’s going to throw some people off since creepypastas, NoSleep stories, and urban legends are often categorized separately from one another. But I still think there are some really good NoSleep stories and urban legends out there.

So, my Halloween Special of my top 10 lesser-known creepy pastas is going to be my biggest review-related project yet. There’s going to be 5 different cover arts/parts for the list. I MAY not have them all out by Halloween but my goal is to have three parts out by then...

The later list entries are lengthier creepypastas as the reason for these split parts is mainly because of the KB limits for the descriptions on Deviantart.

Part I: Numbers 10-6
Part II: Numbers 5-4  - You are here!
Part III: Numbers 3-2
Part IV: Honorable Mentions
Part V: Number 1

5.) Kuchisake-Onna, Futakuchi-Onna, and Teke Teke – Suggested by Akai

Wait, Saucez, these are Japanese urban legends, do they count as creepypastas? Yes, they do. They are scary stories/myths that told on and outside of the internet. If Jeff the Killer and Tails Doll are considered both urban legends and creepypastas, why not these three?
I love them so much; I couldn’t just pick one. I wasn’t sure if they’re considered well-known throughout the world or not. They are very well-known in Japan of course. I doubt they’re as popular as Jeff the Killer, for example. So, this is a three-parter entry pretty much.

“The Slit-Mouthed Woman” スリットマウス:
Speaking of Jeff the Killer, we have Japanese Jeff the Killer here: Kuchisake-Onna, as known as the Silt-Mouthed Woman. Her origin story is that she was caught cheating by her samurai husband, so he threw Kuchisake onto the floor in anger and carved a gigantic smile into her face, asking her, “who will find you beautiful now?” Kuchisake passed away from blood loss not long afterwards.
Kuchisake-Onna is now seen as a spirit who roams around small towns to attack children, especially in the Nagasaki prefecture. Survivors of the apparition woman have said she would walk up to them in a big trench coat and wearing a surgical mask, and ask them one simple question, “am I pretty?” or “am I beautiful?” Responding to the question interprets the outcome of your fate with the Slit-Mouthed Woman. If you respond with “no”, she will kill you right away with her large pair of scissors she is often seen holding. But if you respond with “yes”, she will remove her mask, revealing her disturbing slit-mouth, and ask you “even like this?” Responding with “no” still results in death, only she will still carve a smile in your face. Responding with “yes” will make her go away for now, only you get home, and she kills you right on the spot, making it so that you lose either way.
However, there are some known tricks to avoid these fates or buy you some time though. If you have candy or sweets with you, throw them all onto the ground, it is said that it will distract her as she will pick up the candy or sweets, buying you some time to get away from her. Sweets are said to be her favorite food. Another trick is to respond neutrally to her questions with things like “eh...” or “maybe” to confuse her as she allegedly goes away.
It's said that she no longer haunts children anymore due to the increase of protection and safety of children nowadays, but what matters is that you should keep the look out for her and make sure you know this procedure in case you ever encounter her presence or your life will end with an atrocious smile carved on your face.

Futakuchi-Onna 二口女:
Futakuchi-Onna is known as the two-mouthed woman, not the slit-mouthed woman, but the two-mouthed woman. She has a miniature mouth on front of her head, while the other mouth was on the back of her head. The mouth is unscientifically large. Her hair is said to be animate and used as tentacles to pull her victims or food into her larger mouth. The second mouth demands to be fed. If Futakuchi refuses to comply, the mouth will scream high pitch, causing her massive pain.

There are various stories about Futakuchi-Onna. The most well-known tale involves how Futakuchi married a rich man and the one thing that he was so thrilled about her was how she ate very little, so he didn’t have to spend much money on food for her. The marriage was going great between the two, but the husband notices their rice supply has been depleting slowly each day and this process became more frequent as time went on. The husband had enough and wanted to investigate what’s been happening to his precious rice. He said to Futakuchi that he was going to work, but he was actually spying on their storage to investigate where his rice is going and who is responsible for the consumption. He caught that it was his wife feasting on his rice cakes, but not through her little mouth on the front of her face, but the otherworldly and large mouth that was on the back of her head instead. The large mouth would smack loudly while snacking on the husband’s rice cakes. The husband attempted to confront her about it and even made threats to divorce her if she didn’t get help for her “unexplained condition”, but Futakuchi attempted to kill him. He got away and went into hiding, never to see the supply of his precious rice or wife ever again, despite returning home a few weeks later.

Various origin stories exist on Futakuchi-Onna. The second mouth appeared due to her lack of eating food. One origin story involves how she got the large mouth from a cut of a man swinging his axe while he was chopping for firewood. The large gaping fraction of a wound on the back of her head somehow formed into a mouth.

Another origin story was she was a cruel stepmother who was possessed by the spirit of her deceased stepdaughter who Futakuchi refused to feed food to and delivered the bread to the other family members. That is why her second mouth is so famished because the stepdaughter had trauma with starvation. The mouth would contain the voice of her deceased stepdaughter.

Sadly, there was no known cure for this condition of her second mouth, so she had to suffer the rest of her life with the curse of her large mouth on the back of her head.

Also, fun fact: the Pokémon, Mawile, was solely based on Futakuchi-Onna’s legacy with a large mouth on the back of their head. You can see the resemblance if you would like to.

Teke Teke てけ てけ:
Teke Teke is a Japanese urban legend of a ghost girl who is missing her legs and has been witnessed using her arms for movement. The creepiest part is she is known to bleed out from the lower half of her body, painting trails of red marks from her blood as if they were there to indicate her footsteps. Her spine and other inner body parts can also be seen sticking out. You can only see her with your own eyes if you have considered her very next victim for her kill count. All you can do is flee from her once your eyes come across her menacing presence and the worst part is she is known for her intense speed, making her attacks nearly inevitable. Once she kills you, she will cut your body apart and use your legs as her own until they decay.

Various depictions have been made about Teke Teke, such as how some stories claim she can be seen holding a scythe or a katana as a weapon to cut your body apart, while others claim she has and uses her lengthy, sharp claws on her hands to cut you apart.

Her origin story has various versions as well. One claims that Teke Teke was originally an office worker who was raped by a U.S. soldier who was visiting Japan at the time after the Japanese surrendered for World War II. The trauma was too much for her that she jumped off of a bridge going over a railroad track. The lower half of her body was still on the tracks as she was unconscious and paralyzed from the fall. An ongoing train eventually drove by and sliced off her lower half. She survived it and could somehow crawl to the next train station. The conductor was terrified about what he witnessed since he knew he ran over something on the way there, so he covered her with a tarp to not look at the horrific-looking remains of a train survivor, which caused her to pass away from blood loss.

I know what you’re all thinking, why is this story on my list if it involves rape since I have a really big grudge against things that mention rape. Well, I can accept this one because:
1- It’s not the main/focused scare or shock factor of the story, as it’s not relying heavily on the raping to make the whole story creepy or using rape as a character trait.
2- It actually builds up to something.
3- It doesn’t go into depth about the raping or at least the versions I’ve read.

Another version claims Teke Teke was a new schoolgirl who got bullied and at one point, the bullies threw her body out on an ongoing train passing by a train station. Teke Teke is said to haunt and attack you if her spirit witnesses you bullying other individuals, especially at a train station, where school students commonly used the train.

Various versions claim she will contact you by phone or in your dreams before she attacks you. If she contacts you, she is determined to ask you at least two questions. You must correctly answer the questions, or you’ll be the next victim to add to her kill count.

-Teke Teke’s first question:
脚が必要ですか (Do you need your legs?)

-Your response needs to be the following:
私はそれらが必要です (I need them right now.)

-Teke Teke’s second question, since she will suspect that you’ve heard about her after hearing your response to her first question:
誰があなたにそれを言ったの (Who told you my story?)

-Your response needs to be the following:
  カシマレイコ (Kashima Reiko.)

If you break down Kashima Reiko, it’s Ka-Shi-Ma-Rei-Ko, and each syllable in order stands for Mask, Death, Demon, Ghost, and Accident.

If you’ve passed her quiz, don’t think you’re safe because she may come back for you later.

So, the reason why I added the Japanese Urban Legends to the list is because I think they are creepy in their own ways and I think for some of the beings, you can only avoid for so long, only that they will try to get you again later on as you will become their next victim. It almost feels like they're inevitable. I wasn't sure if they're as popular outside of Japan, but it's good to know that they are getting so much recognition around the world.

Are these real stories? I highly doubt it and I bet there's a 99% chance they're fake, but you sometimes never know with these urban legends since every urban legend has a kernel of truth to it.

4.) Dementophobia- Suggested by Phantom Rider

Finally, a pasta with a character that gets mental illness right. This is a good story about phobias.

Many people would probably look up to Marcus in this story and assume “he looks like a basic and cliched creepypasta serial killer,” but there’s much more to Marcus than what meets the eye. He’s not even a serial killer, anyway. He is depicted as having gained mental health issues allegedly caused by his long list of fears and his lack of slumber due to his insomnia. One of his biggest phobias is dementophobia, which was stated as the fear of dementors. Marcus is shown to have voices talking to them inside of his head. The antecedent of this is the nightmares he would get, making it a struggling obstacle for him to fall asleep.

Marcus was prescribed to take medication to stop his reign of nightmares that would occur during his slumber. He takes the medication a lot even before class. Marcus accidentally loses all of his medication as the pills all go down the drain at once.

The classroom section is a good indicator for this pasta. Marcus fears humiliation as he accidentally humiliates himself in the classroom and the rest of the class laughs at him. At the same time, Mr. Stone calls Marcus out of his misfortunes of falling asleep and onto the floor. He was sent to the nurses’ office for a checkup. He went with his friend, Matthaios (or just Matt), who was a pretty kind and understanding friend to Marcus.

During the nurse’s office, Marcus feels uneasy about how the nurse writes on her paper during his checkup, with the voice in his head telling Marcus that she will kill him if he doesn’t act now. Marcus’ mom dropped off a syringe as his medication. The nurse walked up to Marcus and of course, Marcus’ inner voices convinced him she was going to kill him, so he avoided the nurse for a while until a mysterious dark coil grabbed him. All Marcus can see are layers of darkness all around him. The nurse in Marcus’ vision was a void of a body with a dark sclera and gold pupils staring down at Marcus. The nurse taunted at Marcus, “Ah, men... They're so brave and collected until they're met with their darkest fears. Isn't that right, Marcus?” as she showed off her sharp teeth. You know, it's been so nice to have you here, Marcus... You have no idea how long I've been waiting for someone like you to come along.” The nurse was talking in a familiar voice he heard earlier. “Well... I suppose it all doesn't matter now. Sleep tight, honey.”

The shadows grew darker around him, and Marcus bolted out of the nurse’s office as the shadows were screaming at Marcus to join them. Marcus refused to get consumed by such darkness. The scary part is that all of these shadows and demented beings he is witnessing were in his head mostly due to him not taking his medication... or so we could assume as the readers...
Everything goes insane for a while for Marcus. Eventually, he came across Matt again, coughing out fresh splatters of dark red blood on the floor around Marcus’ feet. Matt encouraged Marcus to escape the supposed darkness and nightmare of shadows within their vision of the world. They were metaphorically surrounded by eyes watching them, which represented their fears and regrets. The building seemed to represent the shadows of nightmares Marcus and Matt were both in. Matt talked about how they were both trapped inside this world of shadows and darkness and that he wanted Marcus to escape. Marcus promised Matt that he would get them both out of there, but Matt declined his offer, saying it was far too late for him, claiming he’s already lost his chances for escape a long time ago before Marcus had to deal with this nightmarish horror. Matt was slowly losing his consciousness, with his throat becoming throat, his voice becoming rough, and he looked like he’s been drained of energy. Matt was supposedly a goner. It was nearly the end of the line for Marcus for the dark, growing mass of darkness that had the desire to consume him.

Eventually, Marcus comes across an otherworldly perfect, dull bronze framed mirror. Marcus saw himself in the mirror and became confused about what was going on as soon as he witnessed his reflection. He was talking to his reflection, assuming that the reflection was mocking him for who he truly was, but what Marcus couldn’t comprehend in this situation was how he was slowly descending to the one thing he feared the most, insanity. He couldn’t take the mental pain anymore, so he punched through the glass of the mirror... or so he thought... as the mirror was seen unharmed without a single smug on the mirror. He tried all he could to break the mirror by kicking and headbutting, but nothing happened. After all of these years of running away from imaginary monsters, he still isn’t able to accomplish anything involving strength or brute force. Marcus wanted it gone as he indirectly assumed the demise of the mirror was some key to stopping his insanity and possibly testing out his courage. Nothing would leave a scratch on the mirror.

He didn’t want to leave the room because everything else was suffocated in darkness. The mirror was allegedly a metaphoric reflection of his life with all of the phobias Marcus has and that the key to overcoming them is not by strength but with courage, which is something Marcus has a hard time obtaining for his well-being. Marcus struggles to understand that fear is only there when you make it there. Marcus theorized that Matt was only there because he was the only one who cared for him throughout all of his rough moments of life at school. It was eventually revealed that the mirror was a reflection of Marcus’ life as the mirror explodes to represent his life is now shattered and has broken into pure insanity.

As Marcus reflected on how Matt was there to help him, Marcus stated that the only thing he wanted was a friend and now he is all alone. After stating this, coincidentally Matt came back right behind Marcus. “...You don't really think that though, do ya?”

Matt was alive and well, just as he was when he took Marcus to the nurse’s office. Matt explained that now that Marcus knows the truth, it’s about time they up the stakes of their friendship, saying he can’t get rid of Matt even if he wanted to. Matt wants to make a deal with Marcus.
“Well, see Mark, here's the thing, You want a friend, and I wanna live. I can't live without a host, and you're too scared to see reality without me. So how 'bout we make a deal? You gimmie some of that delicious fear of yours once an' a while so I won't go hungry, and I stick around an' keep you company. And as a bonus, I'll even let you play with my little 'toys' so ya won't feel so weak anymore. Sound good?”

Marcus was confused by this summary Matt was giving him. Matt demonstrated by showing that his fingers were forming shadows. He eventually explained that most people couldn't see, hear, or feel him. He is very real but not human. And instead of eating food like humans normally do, he feeds off of those delicious clouds of fear and panic that Marcus’ mind makes. This made Marcus realize that Matt is causing him nightmares.

I like this very part here. It gives some personality to the characters:
“Wait, so YOU'RE the reason I keep having nightmares?” Marcus asked with a worried expression. Matt clicked his tongue and shot Marcus a wink,* “Bingo. Don't take it personally though, buddy. It's funny to watch ya run and hide under ya blankets at night, but I'm doin' it more so I can stay alive.”*

Matt makes the deal with Marcus: “We'll keep each other alive and safe from now on. You keep me alive with your tasty dreams once in a while, and in return, I'll let you use my shadows whenever ya like. And on top 'o that, I'll letcha see all 'a reality with no more tricks. Sound good?”

It was a deal between staying in the madhouse of a world alone and losing Matt forever or keeping Matt and seeing the real world with some occasional nightmares here and there. Marcus agreed with the deal. Matt responded with a sick, wicked grin of a smile. The darkness gathered around Matt and flew into Marcus’ eyes.
Marcus woke up in the nurse’s office. Everything may have seemed alright at first, but Marcus noticed some things were different, such as how Marcus can only see Matt behind the nurse, but the nurse herself can’t see him. Matt gave Marcus a piece of the broken mirror from earlier to look at what he has become. His eyes were as dull grey-green as Matt’s now. His face was void of all expressions as he grinned at the shard, facing his new enemy. It felt familiar, yet it wasn’t on his own. He’s not afraid of anything anymore because he has become everything he feared since the beginning. Dementophobia: the fear of insanity.

One detail I like about this pasta is how Marcus constantly lists out various phobias throughout the story to indicate what he is going through with his possible insanity and when he is trapped in his dark, inner maze of shadows and nightmares, regardless of whether the phobias he lists out are relevant or not.

It’s like being in a sticky situation of wanting to spend your life alone in eternal darkness inside of your mind. Still, you can get better sleep, or you can see the world for what it is, with a supposed/imaginary friend, Matt, there to help you with the exchange of having nightmares. That’s a hard choice. I like making sure I get to sleep. It just makes you think that the supposed darkness that Marcus is seeing is all in his head and without his medication, it seems inevitable. Here’s a tip for you, Marcus. Get a pill box based on the days of the week and times if you're that clumsy on your medication.

Remember, safety is an illusion.

Thank you Creepy Ghost Stories for the narration

So, that's numbers 5-4. Stay tune for the parts of the list and Happy Halloween!!!
